Sam is a zoner mostly, he isn't very strong, and heavily relies on attacking from far away. Not to mention, him being a war mage is because he was forced into the role and uses his skills more for self-defense. His water/ice magic is reflective of this, mostly because water is obviously less harmful and easier to control than fire, and ice is meant to freeze/stop the opponent.
Sam, however, isn't unfamiliar with combat, and can combine his gun with magic to either shoot a big water blast or fire a big icicle. Also, he can use water magic to dash forward and back to help control the distance between the opponent. And if pushed to the limit, Sam does know water-cutting, and can make his ice very sharp, and fire smaller icicles from his hands.

I'll give some short descriptions on the characters' fighting styles, but I recommend checking gout their submission pages for more info.
[FIGHT ME]
A pair of somewhat goofy rapper friends, Slim Reaper (also known as Japie Knekel) and Jiminy Kick*ss seek to become famous in their craft.
Slim's combat style also consists largely of boxing with some kicks thrown in.
Ergo: Mainly unching, ducking-and-weaving, zigzagging and the works. Though he also has a weak spot on the back of his skull.
Meanwhile Jim's got a *lot* of power in the leg department. Kicks hard and can jump higher and farther, but must also commit to his jumps more which may be a weak spot for those who can predict his trajectory.
Slim's dodges tend to cover shorter distances but require less commitment.
They may also wield a pair of guns that fire six shots each (in their world, firearms are generally loaded with ammunition that fires off a less lethal energy blast or soft bullets) plus a staff that can split into two even-length sticks.
Part of their tactics is throwing their weaponry back and forth.
Stuff like:
- One wields double guns, other wields double sticks or the whole staff
- Both wield a stick
- Both wield a gun
- Both wield a stick and a gun
- One wields a gun and the staff, the other has a gun and an off hand.
Etc.
Another part of their repertoire is doing some combo attacks, like Jim rolling backwards, putting his legs up, Slim jumping on the legs and then being catapulted forward by Jim kicking him straight ahead.
Of course, Slim & Jim may not always be together...

THE GUN BROTHERS!
Neil gun is a pun on Nailgun. Paranoid as all get-out, prefers to flee and stumbles, fumbles and bumbles a lot in flight due to fear and doom-thinking taking over.
But yet proves a surprisingly dangerous and calculated opponent when really pinned to the wall. Oftentimes, the ones remaining pinned were his pursuers instead.
Can emit nails of three different lengths from his hand palms:
- Shooting normal short cartoony nails from his palms or jamming them into an opponent (he utilizes an open palm style with kicks). They regenerate quickly
- By holding one arm straight, he produces a big nail the length of his arm to use as a kind of short (throwing) pike or club or mace. When it's out, he can't produce any other nails from his arm. Can do this with both his arm.
- By extending both his arms outward he can produce the longest of all nails, to use as a kind of staff.
- He can evaporate his nails from a distance but needs a moment of peace to "recall" them.
Qin Gun (pronounced Chin Gun) is dangerous by virtue of putting you in the line of fire by merely looking at you. He hits quite hard with his normal punches and strikes and kicks and his chin operates by the same logic as Slim & Jim's guns: Firing a non-lethal energy projectile and has six shots before needing to "reload" (performing a very quick meditation, or waiting for... let's say a minute).
However, he can charge up a shot. This takes three bullets, deals more damage and has big recoil.
Qin may be *arrogant* as all get-out but it's not undeserved. He pulls of legitimately daring stunts and utilizes the recoil of his chin (what a sentence) in creative ways.
Even still, his arrogance may prove fatal in combat. His thrillseeking antics have led to the moolah and loot from a job being lost more than once *when they were actually in the clear*.
And Sanjay Gun (joke on the Sanjiegun, three-section staff) has no powers at all. But he is nevertheless skilled with his three-section staff, which has hidden spring-loaded blades that he can extend and retract.
It reflects his hidden sharp wit and nastiness: he has a mind for planning and social manipulation and will not hesitate to go for the ankles, eyes, groin or reach for a brick to bash one's head in.
Despite being the balancing factor between Neil's paranoia and Qin's arrogance, would rather take all the moolah off a final big heist with them and then ditch them.
But until them, he's stuck with these mooks.
They're not incompetent, and thus still useful, but *boy* has his patience worn thin.

Veeeerrry good question. I find this tough in respect to where to locate Slim, Jim and the members of the Gun Brothers. Their capacities or "stance changes" generally allow them to cover multiple grounds.
(if i had added Cannab*ch it would have been easy-- definitely Rushdown).
I think that, without weapons:
- Slim would be a Shoto, with leanings to Rushdown and Grappler. His dodges don't cover *much* distance but he's quick to weave in and out, and he's learnt some strong practical clinches.
- Jim would be between Shoto and Rushdown. His kick attacks especially hit *hard* and his leaps/dodges cover a lot of ground, though he needs to commit to said leaps and dodges more and has some less health and defensive capacities than Slim.
There would be a lot more options, changes and permutations to how a fight would proceed for them if they are allowed weapons.
For the Gun brothers:
- Neil Gun would be on the intersection of Rushdown, Zoner and Shoto. His nail summoning power allows him to deal light damage from afar with the normal nails and do some lasting damage if he plants nails with his palm strikes.
Duce can gain double his normal reach with the big nail, which hits harder but requires more commitment. And having either one or two arm-length nails out extends his reach a bit too with new melee combos.
Though he may be able to have different grabs too...
- Qin Gun... i'd like to put him on the intersection of Rushdown, Shoto and Grappler. I reckon he'd hit a bit slower than most and likes to end with a bit of flair. While his chin gun does allow for ranged attacks, he can use the recoil to deal damage and quickly back away, or instead to dash *into* opponents with nasty ballistically propelled elbows, donkey kicks and other acrobatics. Or use it to escape juggles/combos.
Though normal shots with his chin may allow for juggling from a distance...
I reckon one of his "grapples" would be moonwalking over a crumpled opponent and shooting at them while looking down and tipping his hat.
- Finally, Sanjay Gun would probably be on the intersection of Shoto, Zoner and Grappler. his weapon naturally allows for a *lot* of reach and the chain connections may allow for various forms of grappling and garroting, but is himself is a bit frail.

Hey @Calamancyy, I know the rules state to only keep things between OCs fighting, but can we also post arenas and stages for them to fight on? Because I've been working on a grid box arena and I think this would be perfect here.

He's just a cat, so he fights like one (though he's a lot bigger than an average cat so it may have more impact). He does have guns, though they're all fake.
