Well... for starters; that artwork is black and white; that's just not IN anymore, at least not currently. So unless you can do some super detailed sick lineart that doesn't need color; you are better making properly colored and shaded artworks.

That's not some design choice I made just as a thinly-veiled excuse not to color anything. That's just her color palette (it's not even really b&w only if you look closely at her teeth, they are slightly yellowed). If it makes you feel any better, there is an older (concept) artpiece of this character where she's wearing a grey dress rather than the b&w stripey one:

While I don't have the balls to be on forums (and realistically rather new when it comes to posting art online..besides like a server or 2)
(None of the pieces got any rating really,fine by me though)
I'd say,most favorite piece from recent times.
(I absolutely welcome any criticism on any of the pieces,i've yet to get any in my life)

What piece are you referring to? The one before this one?
If you're talking about the stars, then you can't really let that hold you over too much. I get it the feeling though.
