There's so much art of their dads killing each other, thought why not draw their kids being bros.
Also practice drawing backgrounds more complex than a buncha gradients and what have you.

I recently finished this this drawing (NSFW Nudity). It was originally a beach scene but by changing the background and lighting I changed it to a bed scene, which is just as cute. I hope its worth checking out, I'll check out some other stuff in here.

Hey, there's no shame in using references. They can do a lot to help you learn, and even professional artists need to use refs. Just make sure to learn what you can from them to make something new with it.
If you just need something to draw, maybe make an original character you can draw a bunch, or make fanart of something you love. Just do it

tl:dr this OC idea was cursed + it made sense bc they're a demon-robot-thing. So now it's canon: their horns are real horns
