Also, thinking about lighting and adding some shading can give the character some depth and feel more 3d. Keep the lighting simple. I decided to put a light pointed down in front of her face to keep it simple. You can add complexity over time once you understand 3d shapes better. I added a gif of the changes. (Hopefully the gif works)
