Please don't do that. Flag, yes, but please do not post huge lists. It takes a huge amount of time and effort on your end, but it makes huge posts in the BBS. Plus, you do the work, but these lists allow other uses to flag and get points from your work, thus getting a whistle rank that they did not earn.

I'm a little middle of the road on this. The incentive of whistle points encourages other users to go and see if they can find more similar content, and the average user gets an idea of what gets removed from the lists -- but HUGE lists are definitely hard for me to respond to as an individual. I see a little list, especially the way they were organized by Greg, as a kick in the rear to get it in gear.

End result, more users are encouraged to go find stolen content, we get more reports. I think as long as they don't come in faster than we can respond to, the risk of a few users getting whistle points they didn't really work hard for isn't so bad. Especially considering the way whistles work.

2 hecking hours removing 400+ songs from your flags. This is like a Deity whistle speedrun...

Jokes about speed aside, it might actually benefit you to slow down a little. There were about 75 or so you actually missed by just flagging one item from the uploader when some had 6+ more. We still got them, but they could have been passed over as we work the list.

A lot of clicking, but a few minutes if I know the song. Listening to the source material from the flag can take a bit longer, depending on my connection. I do find it very convenient when you report instances of the same song all together. That very much speeds up the process :)

That varies from mod to mod. Obvious 1 for 1 theft is quick to deal with.

That's really sweet of you -- just be careful. Some songs remain up because they in fact aren't stolen. Usually a mod will have commented this but sometimes we forget or just don't have the time

I realized that I just have to flag songs instead of having to come the the Audio Portal Cleanup thread, so I have been doing that instead and got Deity Whistle. Also I flag songs not just to help NG but to help GD as well so both platforms are in less risk of legal issues.

It look legit but oddly enough the song is from 2016 and he got other song not published on NG so I have no idea.

Nice catches all around. I gave one or two the benefit of the doubt but a lot of the foreign language ones admitted straight out to being stolen. Ex: Не моя музыка, трек не мой, no es mio. One of them for some reason typed english sentences with Russian keyboard spellings which was wild to read

I want to note though from your flags that remixes don't necessarily break the rules.

An example here is music by @F-777, who is on NG and uploads music under a creative commons license. So long as the remixer put in reasonable effort they're usually fine.

If they just speed it up or change the pitch, different story.

Same story for some of the GD and FNF music, which comes from NG originally. Some dummies still don't know they can access it on the audio portal already, and someone also mistakenly flagged the guy who made some music for one of the FNF mods (MikeGeno, who has been verified by me)

Agree. That fellow may be the author of the original theme, but whatever additional work and/or improvement that was build upon the original , belongs to the respective authors.

If it's not a collab, can't claim the authorship of those.

Yeah that's been an issue for a while now. It's known but a low priority over some other things. Keep in mind the admin team is very small.

Hey audio mods. I found this remix a couple months ago of virtual riots evil game boy. It was already put in the cleanup back in early 2015 and was not removed because it is an original remix. I have searched for a while on yt and SoundCloud to find this author anywhere else, but I cannot. The author of this remix hasn’t contributed anything else to this site, but I don’t see any geometry dash tags or anything so I don’t think it was for geometry dash.
