I decided to take another stab at design, focus a bit more on shape language, line techniques, color theory, etc. Here's Arlo, Enzo, and Daphne with the new attempts. I feel fairly pleased with the result. Perhaps this the new stylistic direction? :D
It's strange that I'm not exactly the world's biggest Harry Potter fan, yet I felt compelled to make this. I think I found the outfits of the characters appealing and wanted to trying drawing a new designed Daphne wearing it, because why not? I've always been a fan of people in formal wear because they just look "damn good" lol. Welp, here's Daphne Goodwin doing her Harry Potter cosplay, or at least a rendition of it. I wonder what spell she's casting? :P

Oh look, I decided to draw a human for once! This was a reference study I did of Audrey Hepburn, cause she looks DAMN good, and inspires some flavors of my graphic novel. It's my first one, so I'm sure there are many flaws. :P

Back to cartoon cats. Here's a slight re-design of Lily.
Some snippets from many places of the graphic novel I'm working on (Cashmere Sky). These are rough sketchy thumbnails, no line work, color, or shade. Far from finished but getting the story assembled. I have 19 pages readable at the moment, with 2 pages of line work done. I hope to have 30 finished by Q1 next year. :P

Since I'm drawing these characters more in the upcoming pages of my graphic novel, I took another crack at them. This is Theo and Nelly. They're also based on my real pet cats.
I lost my cat Helix over the holiday season due to a tragic disease. He died in my arms on Christmas Eve. This was surprisingly more emotionally difficult to do than technically. Helix will live on as Theo in my graphic novel. I will miss him.
