Yeah, I hear that the soundtrack of "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" has some really good songs, I am going to look for the CD, I know of a good song on there that could be used for the opening, its called "The Ecstasy of Gold". Its by Metallica it is an instrumental and it is still pretty cool to listen to. Just because it is by Metallica doesn't mean it is heavy metal, it is more of a lighter song.

I also want all of the writers to watch as many western movies as you possibly can for reference. I suggest something with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood because that is the type of persona I want Sam to have.

Will do!

Ok now the first episode we tell his story. He has the gun fight, the kid gets killed, Sam goes to the bar we flash ahead 5 years, the stranger talks to him, Sam delivers the line, "Some things are best left forgotten," the stranger then asks what, he says, "Your ugly-ass face!" then he gets back to drinking. The dance hall girl asks him to be a little nicer to the customers, he replies, "Yes ma'am," Cyrus Culhane walks in, all motion in the bar stops, Cyrus walks to counter, "Whiskey! None of them pussy shot glasses, I want the bottle!" Sam says, "You oughta have more respect for a lady," Cyrus replies, "And just who the hell do you think you are, asshole?" quickly Sam pulls out his gun, (click) "I'd say I'm the law in these parts." We end episode one here.
Any questions or ammendments to the basic plot with little dialogue? The rest of the dialogue will come later this is just setting the mood of the scene. Once I get some creative juices (Pepsi) flowing, I'll add more as I see it.
Joe? You have first cut of the script and I'll make final cut. Onve the film is made we both will do a final cut and we all will be put in the credits, that means all writers and artists and voice actors, which I would like to do a little bit of.

Hey dude! I fucking love this so far! It has drama all over it! Anyways, anything I can help you with? You seem to know all of the first episode pretty damn well.

Alright, when you say "first cut" what does that mean? Editing the script?

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-12 12:28:28

so,what do i TRY to draw for you lot, or stages or back grounds, or help with story, i dunno?

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-12 13:10:15

Alright, when you say "first cut" what does that mean? Editing the script?

Yes. I basically have most of it done. I just need to add some dialogue and a little bit more plot elements to make the story complete. Usually, I do this to get what I want out of the story. This is just like making a silver teapot, then polishing it.
Oh, and as far as research goes, I finished watching "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly," I suggest that you watch it for reference. The Clint Eastwood character is what I want Sam to be like.
Snare, if you feel up to the task you can do as much as you feel you are able to do. I'm trying to get us an animator because I belive you had told me that you weren't good at animation. You can do some of the art and the animator will pick up what you've left behind. Let's see the cast so far: Snerd, Eskimo Joe, Snare, and some other guys that are writers but I can't remember their names. I'm sorry if you're name isn't mentioned and it should be. I've got a terrible memory.

ill try drawing some evil sheriff type guy then!

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-12 16:09:21

No! The sheriff is good. Don't make him evil. Just draw him according to my description.
Now as far as the story credits go: I'm directorand I get credit for creating it. I'm also one of the writers and the main editor since I have final cut of the movie.
Snare: artist/ lead artconsultant/ art team leader.
Eskimo Joe: Assistant Director, writer, editor.
Demon-Wraith: writer.
Ann B. Davis: Alice
Now once we can get a flash artist we'll be set. I'll finish the final draft of the script and submit for group approval. Once suggestions are made I'll take some of them, trim up the bad story elements, and submit the final copy. We will then have Snare draw a few sketches based on our descriptions. And the goddamn sheriff is good! Ok. I'll turn in the final draft tomorrow and we'll discuss it later on. I'll need everyone's real name for credits. My name is Gabriel Sentiff. And that's a proper dude's name, nothing girlish about it.

do u think it would be a good idea to post a new thread for flash creators who want to help us out in making this movie? or should we look at some flashes and c who would be good for it? or r u handling this part by urself? cuz i could try to help finding a flash creator for the movie if u need me to

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-12 20:31:22

Well I'd appreciate it if you'd help me look. I'm going to try to look from a list of some of my favorite authors and see if any of them can help. We can also contact some other flash artists. I'll also try to put a new thread for flash artists. So basically, all of the above. I'm almost finished with the script for movie one, part one. I'll send to all of you if I can find your e-mail. It'll be in Microsoft Word so if you can't open it just send me a brief e-mail telling me so. I'll find some way to make sure you get it. I'm sending it via
e-mail because I don't want it to be stolen. It has a greater risk factor if it gets posted here. I only ask that if you receive a script that you tell no one what you have read. You must show the script to no one. I want the public to be completely fresh once they see this. We will make a trailer for the first part before it's release/ That will be enough to get everyone excited. I want to make the trailer. Eskimo Joe may or may not have say in that because I wrote the majority of the movie and I've already gotten my idea for the trailer.

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-12 20:41:02

Snare, you need to get a Yahoo name and put the e-mail address in your profile. I need to send you the script since you're the artist. I hope that all of you have a working e-mail system in your profile. If not you need to change it. I need to send you the script.
The following need to check their e-mail or get an address:
Eskimo Joe,
Snare,
Demon Wraith.
Make sure that your address works and that you will periodically check it between now and next Wednesday.

Thats fine by me, just don't make it really short and really gay like the majority of the trailers that are submited to the portal.

Eskimo Joe may or may not have say in that because I wrote the majority of the movie and I've already gotten my idea for the trailer.

Couldn't agree with you more, you did more work and you did start the crew so you are the boss!

Damn Right! And to the remark on the trailer: I've seen enough film trailers to know what grabs an audience. It will be something unattempted by a flash film. I'm going to make it like the trailer for a real movie, by having it take some sound bytes and some action sequences. Then abruptly it will end and flash across the screen "Coming Soon!" then have the rated "R" stuff which says for violent images and some strong language.
The script is done for part one. I left it hanging so we can do part 2 and finish it. There's no sense in doing a long series, fans would get tired of it after a while. Part 2's script is being done now as we "speak." I just need to type up part 1 (I write all of my scripts on notecards and later type them up, this gives me the chance to edit as I type). So make sure that all of you have working e-mail address listed in your profiles and that you can receive Mircosoft Word. I'll send it as an attachment. Eskimo Joe has first cut of the script and Demon Wraith is allowed to infuse suggestions as well.
Snare, how is that drawing coming? When I said cowboy hat I didn't mean a 10 gallon hat, I hope there was no confusion. I need to see that drawing as soon as you can finish it. Also you need to list an e-mail address in your profile so you can receive the script. Make sure it works and that you can receive Microsoft Word.
Thanks for playin' along, kids! The next story I want to do is a police drama a-la-Dirty Harry, but we need to finish Hang 'em High.
PS to the BS:
We don't need to include music. It's copyrighted. I don't want any music, this way we can sell the movie on DVD later. We all might as well make a profit off of this! Some one will need to set something up where we can all divide the money from DVD sales evenly. Also those T-shirts are going to cost me a shit-load of money I don't have. Instead we'll all just get a free copy of the DVD which will have both parts of the movie put together as one feature. Special Features include the original trailer, and maybe we can record a commentary track by piecing together different MS sound recorder files ( that's cheap! lol). I'll see you kids around about 9:00 tonight or sometime tomorrow.

I want him to look like Clint Eastwood in The Good, The bad and the Ugly.
The script for the movie! I've just got to type it. This means once it gets some work from the other two writers (Eskimo Joe and Demon Wraith) you gotta get to work!
Now set up an e-mail address and put it in your profile. Make sure that it works and that you can receive Microsoft Word.

ok i'm just wondering, is there going to be anything done to the graphics to put more of a "western" feeling into it? or will we just kinda leave that to whoever is gonna animate it?

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-13 18:55:03

Leave it to the animators.

On another note typing of the script is proving to be a more daunting task than I thought. I have to explain character movements and camera shots and angles more than I originally put in my notecard adaptation. I'll finish just not on the time table I presented before. I've gotten into page 4 of the script and I' on notecard 3. So this is going to be a big attachment when I send it. You guys need to clear out you e-mail bins because this is going to be big at the rate I'm going.

Keep them brain juices churning man! The better you do the better I look! LOL!

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-13 20:50:31

Oh no, you're gonna work. I'm doing the first draft and the possible rewrite. You and DemonWraith are gonna do some work if it's just, "That's fine now let's look an artist." I'm gonna finish typing tomorrow. I'm too exhausted to think about camera angles now. I also have to finish notecard copies of part 2. I have the perfect ending in mind, but I need to build around it. So far I've re-read through the story and I'm sorta impressed. I usually don't like my work as much as others seem to. You'll love part one and will be thrilled to see how it all ends in part 2. I got this type format after hearing how they did Kill Bill, which I haven't seen but I think if Bill Murray gets what's coming to him, that'll show that bastard! What? Kill Bill isn't a snuff film? Shit!

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-13 22:07:36

I don't know about that police drama yet. I wanna do something lighter. Let's all do a comedy after we finish part 2 of Hang 'em High. I've got a terrific sense of humor. I'm sure we can find a wise ass to help out. We'll think of something to do after we do a victory lap around the Portal. Ok, Snare, how's that artwork comin'?

I've got a terrific sense of humor.

Only one way to find out. . . .

I'm sure we can find a wise ass to help out. We'll think of something to do after we do a victory lap around the Portal. Ok,

Sounds good to me

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-14 10:18:43

Good, maybe in our victory lap we can do a donut or a burnout or something.
Now I'm going to type up my story. I'll be done eventually and I'll send you guys a copy.

Has anyone contacted an animator?

Snare, how's that sketch coming?

Eskimo Joe, how's that Pina Collada?

Demon Wraith, do you wanna be put back in the crawl space?

i did one, on my school book, and i dont want to dhow you that, you wanna have it cartoony, so we can motion tween it,
if motion tween, needs a collar to move head, and arm pieces, thiner, yeah,do you want it to be motion tweenable??
or we could do it like bob the ball, have you seen that, kind of a slide show with a voice on it, and small amounts of movement?

can i join. im alright with flash but im a great write, just dont expect me to spell..

Response to Writers Crew 2004-06-14 15:17:08

No I don't want him to look cartoony. I want him to look as realistic as we can get him. I want him to look like an actor with a little bit of shading. You know how the Punisher is done now? That's how I want my character to look, that style. Come as close as you can to that and show me. Which reminds me, I need to head to the comic shop once I'm finished typing.

I just want him to look as realistically as you can draw him. I'm not asking for Alex Ross, I'm just asking that you give me your all and a sip of your Big Gulp Dr. Pepper. (sip) Thanks!

Yeah a still image is okay. Just show me what you can do. We'll give that to the animator and see if it's feasable for them. Really I suppose what I'm looking for is basically how they animated in Vampire INA. If you could do that, that's ok. That's our minimum requirement, which is sorta asking a bit much because that was a great series. I just need the art to look as real as you can draw.

To the animator: I know nothing about Flash because I don't own it. I need to know if you have to draw or if you can just work with what you are given. Because we need to know whether or not you can take Snare's work or we're just gonna have to sit him in a locked room until he masters Flash so he can put his art in.
