I think he was happy to finally get above the 9,999th ranking and thus reduce his ranking from a 5-digit rank to a 4-digit rank. But yes, he also passed 1,000 exp and increased his 3-digit exp to a 4-digit exp amount.

It may take awhile, but he'll get to the 999th ranking before he gets to 10,000 exp. Heh.

If you're positive you didn't miss a deposit, then there's only one possible reason stafffighter "got" (if you mean he had 20 more exp gain than you did) 20 exp more than you did:

On April 2nd, when ramagi last updated the list, you deposited before she updated it, but stafffighter didn't. Thus, his STARTING exp for the month was 10 less than it should have been and yours was normal.

Then, on May 1st, when ramagi next updated the list, staffighter deposited before she updated it, but YOU didn't this time. Thus, your ENDING exp was 10 less than it should have been and his was normal.

So, let's say that 300 was the amount of exp you both actually got for the month (because it was 4/2 to 5/1).... on the list, he will show up as +310 exp (because that 10 exp he got LATER in the day on April 2nd wasn't counted as already being in his account, but he easily could have gotten it earlier that day, and then he would have had +300 exp on this update, not +310)... meanwhile, on the list, YOU will show up as +290 exp (because the 10 exp you got later in the day on May 1st will be counted towards the NEXT gain on the next update, you lost out on it for this last one... you should have had +300, but you didn't deposit in time).

Does that make sense? His may show as +310 exp and yours may show as +290 exp, but that's only because ramagi can't update the lists at exactly midnight every time for every user. Thus, you both may have had +300 for the month, but the above numbers are what it LOOKS like you got between those dates, due to how list updating works.

The same thing can happen with the official NG top 50 exp list, BTW, because they're not at midnight either. Even though they update everyone at exactly the same time, they do so hours after midnight, and thus some people get their deposits in prior to the update time and others fail to. This screws with how the list looks for the rest of the day and can be misleading if people don't deposit right after midnight, basically.

Indeed. I moved up a lot farther than I expected to this month, frankly. I think I had a bit of luck with nondepositors, or simply missed deposits.

I remember being stuck at #159 for weeks last year... and now I've been stuck at #124 for weeks. But in between those two rankings, things have actually moved fairly smoothly. A mix of completely dead accounts and some not-depositing-every-single-dayers like you say.

So yes, overall we've been fairly fortunate. Those moving through the 100-150 zone next year won't be as fortunate, certainly.

Everyone's lining up to deposit at midnight. The lists and all the related stat rankings don't update in the blink of an eye. If those processes started at 11:59:50, then they would jam up with all the depositors, all the posters, all the stuff going on in the portal at that time of night, and the daily awards system.

Trust me, there is a reason all of the stat-related stuff happens after 4 AM. liljim wants it where the least amount of stuff is going on on the site overall.

If it did update around midnight, there'd likely be errors springing up all over the place, and people would have way more problems than they do now with loading up pages (including the deposit page).

Three people just ahead of you when you posted the above post... had 0 exp gain for all of April. You've probably just passed one of them this weekend, in fact, and the others will fall soon. So yes, I'd say the "in time for June" estimate is going to happen for ya.

Heh... I would describe it as a "pretty cool" level, but yes, many others are better. Still, sometimes... nothing beats a good flail for face-crushing damage:

Sure clubs/maces do the trick as well, but with the chain, a flail can really get the momentum going even moreso on that head and... SMACK. Crush. Bash. BOOM.

In any event, the best thing about level 19 is that you're only one level away from 20. And 20 means:

1) you're out of the teen levels (which is pretty cool in and of itself)
2) you're over 10,000 exp (yes, that wasn't always the case, but now it is)
3) you're out of the first 11 scaling levels (9-19) and into the last 11 scaling levels (20-30)
4) you get a KICK ASS HAMMER/MALLET LEVEL ICON!!!!

Haha agreed... It's way better than the tacky gold hammer and the gold gauntlet. They should've stretched a bit more for variety instead of just recoloring weapons..

I have grown accustom to the q-tip seeing it more often. My early days of newgrounds I thought it was ugly, but you must be sick of it know I cant remeber the last time you had the battle axe or care to calcuate now.

I made it into the 300's last week sometime. Not bad I guess, but not missing a deposit and being #22 seems a bit better.

Damn straight. 24 and 25 are two of my faves after 16 and 15. Those four plus... hm... probably 20... are my top 5 icons.

The gold gauntlet has differences in it from the silver and bronze gauntlets... specifically, different jewels around the wrist plus a kinda studded/sharpfangthingie line of bumps on the knuckles... (plus it's much much later in the levels and takes YEARS to get to from them). Meanwhile, the gold hammer is a BIT closer (in a way) to the regular hammer, and it doesn't look as good, IMO... whereas the golden gauntlet certainly pwns all other gauntlet levels.

So... in a way, I agree with you, but I don't think there's all THAT many duplicates.

TEH GOLDEN LEVELS:

25 - Golden Gauntlet (similar to 17 + 18) - just different enough, IMO. Looks sweet.
26 - Golden Flail (similar to 19) - same damned thing, only golden. Still looks kinda cool, though.
27 - Golden Hammer (similar to 20) - same damned thing as well... you've got a point on this one for sure.
28 - Golden Axe (similar to 22) - turned fully upright, goldenised, AND has a super-special glow to it.
29 - Golden Staff (similar to 23) - gold part is kinda small, the wood's thickness > 23's thickness, and it's got a huge manly crystal on top instead of the tiny little weak one on 23... overall, pretty good. I just wish 23 didn't exist.
30 - Golden Sword/Staff (similar to NOTHING) - kicks ass as a spear top. Sucks mightily (and would be impossible to wield unless you're Hercules) as a sword. Interesting dilemma...

What's ugly about a flail tip? Simple but brutal and effective. I kinda wish the icon showed more of the chain and perhaps the handle (more chain like in level 15 and the flail's handle like the nunchaku in level 16), but oh well...

16 and 18 are way better than 17, that's for damned sure. 16 is better than EVERY other level. I'm not sure if I prefer 18 or 19 more, though. I'm going to be quite happy to move on to level 19 in a few more weeks, that's for sure.

You did deposit before the guy above you did, and thus when the profiles updated, you WERE ahead, but later that day he deposited... and then the next day he deposited in time for the profile update, so... you were back behind, despite you both depositing every day.

It's one of the golden axes, but there was another, the matching gold icon for the Level 21 axe (you can see both below). That's cool YoinK, I never noticed that before, even though I've seen that movie a few times. They should have stuck that gold axe in somewhere and took out the LV11 icon, I hated having that thing :/
