Oh, it'll get easier as you go on. Once you get the basics down-pat, the rest wiill be of severely lessened difficulty.

That's what I'm hoping. I'm not trying to read any books or anything. I'm just trying to learn by what sounds good and what advice my dad gives me.
Does anyone have any recommendations to any harsh Opeth songs?
PaintingHerb, learn to play piano first. Guitar will be exponentially easier, as well as composing music, if you learn piano first.

One listen to MCR and The Used, typical emo stuff... but I'll forgive him cause he's a nice guy and is just joking with me :).
The other listens to awful punk music, AFI and the like... *sigh*
And third listens to DragonForce, Blind Guardian, Racer X and stuff..... he's credible, but again just joking at the expense of the best genre ever!

What do you mean by harsh?

The thing is, I have a guitar. I don't have a piano.

I'll mail you a cheap casio if you'll send me 25 dollars.

I'd go for that, TPH. Ghoul knows his pianos, and the price is right.
I really would, but I have to pay a $704.11 graffiti fine. I'm looking for a job though.

Fuck, that sucks.
Ghoul is unreliable!
I bought a pickup off him, and when it arrived it was just a pickled egg wrapped in tinfoil!
Sounds good though.

I suggest at least getting one of those teach yourself guitar computer programs, and to Bahamut the store I went to was Hastings as they have the largest variety of music
I need some amp reccomendations. I'm looking for one that is best for Death Metal and Black Metal.

A good cheap amp for a DM sound is The Roland CUBE 30. It's got a versatile range of amp models and effects.

Orange or Vox.

Indeed... the service was wonderful.
For black metal, you should get a tiny 8 watt amp and turn it way up. XD
I need to know some well known ambience...uh....bands? I'm trying to convert my friend and she likes the more abstract shit.

Better yet, an 8 watt amp with a reverb pedal and some ultra noisy distortion.
RoseSOAS: you should know i dont think this far ahead
Me made simple: well you already thought as far as holding a chicken while in your underwear

Then, discard all attempts..... and just mic up the sound of you smashing your guitar against a wall, whilst a battle scene from LOTR plays on a TV in the background :D.

You never see Goatchrist recommend SoS when someone asks for some BM :P.

I can't help it if I'm narcissistic.
Srsly, though, if you want weird ambience, Ghost music ftw

I listened to a few Behemoth songs and I didn't find them very interesting.
