I listen to a Folk Rock band from my province, named Les Cowboys Fringants. These guys are amazing. Their lyrics are some of the greatest lyrics I've ever heard and they have some kick ass instrumentals.

I listen to some of Ambient and Drone, with Ulver, Sunn O))) and Boris.

I've been listenning to the EP Legend by Abigail Williams on repeat for quite some time also. Best project of the genre. I've never heard such good metalcore mixed with such intense Symphonic Black Metal :)

And the usual Death Metal stuff. I'd like to get my hands on some Obscura records. Their bass is sick !!!

crust punk is a pretty interesting scene

i've been listening to the books, a lot of stoner metal, das racist, baths, and other assorted stuff. some raver kid in my dorm building introduced me to some decent dubstep and every once in a while i listen to it on my nice headphones to hear that bass haha

also i got high and listened to talking heads' "once in a lifetime" on repeat today

Today Troll played a gig at a local festival that got cut off short. We played three songs and got three hundred bucks. Was awesome. Then I went in an acoustic guitar competition and won 7 hours of recording time, so my band is cutting a considerably professional (It's not super professional) CD. I'll be sure to upload when we do it, and I'll definitely be making a music video or two.

So pretty sweet day. And I was totally high when I won the competition and when we played =D

i do have the correct definition of metal; if i dont know a band how can classify them as a genre of any kind? say i didnt know who eminem was, i wouldnt guess and say he was a metal artist, all the ones i found were ones i knew as not being metal

the first (called budgie) has some really nice bass, everything about it oozes awesome, power supply is really good but it doesnt sound the same as earlier budgie, still a good album, squawk, while i dont own it ive heard all the tracks on youtube is bloody excellent, theres impeckable, not the same by a slight bit as the earlier budgie but still different to the power supply kind of budgie, a great album too, more funky, i mean i only own 3 (getting a load for christmas), but all oftheir songs ive heard i loved, also bandolier is really good, ive only heard like 2 songs from in for the kill but that was still good, and thats about all ive heard by em, i mean they're so good they are even rivalling my love of metallica

I find doom metal generally fairly unpopular or unknown amongst metalheads in north America. Or at least I can safely say everywhere I've been around here. (Not to say there isn't any here, so don't be hating)
While going to college, I finally met a real doom kid, lived and breathed the shit and have a collection that was mind numbing and number crunching. Candlemass was the one band he hated so bad.

Now, I like Candlemass since I never got huge into doom metal to begin with, but I wondered based off this one friend if it was just because it was epic doom that made him not like it, or if they are one of those bands that most fans into a certain genre come to generally dislike and/or find over popular. Asking him was bias towards them just ''sucking. ''

In that case, go for Epicus Doomicus Metallicus. After that, I recommend listening to Nightfall and then the self-titled album. If you're still itching for more Candlemass, the other albums you should give a listen to are Ancient Dreams and Tales of Creation.

Currently watching Ensiferum's 10th anniversary DVD. They're one of my favorite groups in the viking/folk metal genre.
