On the subject of covers, no-one mentioned Death's Painkiller?

Agreed. That is a great cover. Always enjoyed it, I always felt that it really captured the aggression of that song.

I just booked tickets for me and my sister to go to Heidenfest in September. We'll be seeing Ensiferum, Equilibrium, Heidevolk, Swashbuckle AND a special Bathory tribute (Blasphemer and Frode Glesnes are some to name) in one fucking night! Wow, all of that awesomeness to happen then and this show is on six days before we see Blind Guardian.

September needs to come sooner.

Dude! It sucks that you get to see so many great bands at the same moment and that I don't. Usually... when I go to a show there is one band I want to see... one or two I don't care about and one or two lame bands...

I would like to go to a show and have fun during all the sets :(

It doesn't need to be mentioned, if people don't know it already they don't deserve to be in this club.

It's a Finnish band that sounds a lot like Agalloch. I'm liking it a lot.

I'm listenning to their stuff right now. I only listenned to two of their songs but I can already tell you, they are not metal :P

Neofolk :O

I know they aren't metal, but i thought that it's the type of band that people in this club might like.

I've seen ex-deo. I was first laughing at the band name, but then heard it, and it was fucking epic. They'll probably make an epic wall of death, recalling the battle between gauls and romans, saying one are on 1 side and the others on the other side. Here's what happened, on video.
(no, there not a nazi band, everyone's hand you see in the video actually represents their sword)

Also the singer was way too epic to headbang. He just stood there, showing crowd his palm.

you should definitely go to that show, as I don't think ex-deo will be making anymore shows until another album. Plus all the other bands.

Deaths painkiller was cool, just the solo changed too much imo.

You know, at least two years ago I was envying you all with the shows you were all going to. I've missed out on quite a bit but with my sister's huge interest in heavy metal as well, it makes things easier to see these bands live.

I'm still sad about not having the chance to see Dio live.

Good point but we couldn't have a cover discussion without mentioning Death's Painkiller.

Vision Divine's "Take on me"?

Anyone checked out that "Northern Kings" cover albu called "Rethroned"? They had some pretty weird covers, but I digged "Wanted Dead or Alive" by them.

I should of asked, which one should I get?
I'm just asking for suggestions though I will most likely go for The Sound Of Perseverance.

I would personally go for the Sound Of Perseverernce, but Symbolic is also fantastic. I would go for one of those two, but in my (not so) humble opinion, Perserverance is better.

But why is it that I can't it with the Judas Priest cover? I hate it when they make special releases for Japan only >:(

Umm...bad luck? I got mine with the cover. Don't know why you wouldn't get the Painkiller cover, but, oh well. Try different sites.

Just read that on Metal Archives

Rereleased with no changes by Nuclear Blast in 2001. Rereleased again by Nuclear
Blast as a 'Deluxe Edition' on 11/11/2005 with the Live in Cottbus DVD as a
bonus disc. "Painkiller" is not listed on the track listing on the deluxe
edition, but is in fact on the disc.

So I guess I could just buy it from the internet :)

Get SBG if you like your death metal to be filler-free and not pseudo-intellectual. The rest ranges from mediocre to... mediocre. Yeah, sounds about right.
