Ulver's BM is just too amateurish for me. Compared to their more refined experimental side, the black metal is raw, yes, but not polished enough for me, at least.

Here I am, bored with everything.

That video lost all credibility on the second slide.

Is it just me or did he contradict himself about 500 times in that video. Also, towards the end he points out the many over-rated (but still good in terms of Zep, Beatles and Beethoven) that he listens to.

I don't think we can even say their newest stuff is metal. And it's not bullshit. It's ambiant and kind of good, even if it's not really my cup of tea :P

I really like Bergtatt and I'd like to know if they did anything else that may sound somewhat like it.
Or if there is other artists who write that kind of black metal.
well Nattens Madrigal is the closest to Bergtatt, but nothing is exactly like Bergtatt...you might like Kveldssanger, but its all slow acoustic folk stuff.

I've already heard of this album but never listenned to it. I guess I should give it a go :P

I was thinking about this sooner today while listenning to Agalloch...
How do you pronounce the name of this band?

I think the "ch" must be pronounced as a "k".
like when you say Arch Enemy.

It's not pronounced like in that sentence "Manowar is pure cheese."
isn't it? :P

Watch it, fella, I love newer Ulver. It's the reason Ulver is my favorite band
its ok, but I prefer their earlier BM stuff....comparing the two Id say the BM is better...it makes the avantgarde stuff look like crap

I'd have to side with Idiosyncratic here. The bm is kinda too bland for my tastes, I prefer the darker and gloomier Perdition City or the inquisitive and minimalist Quick Fix of Melancholy.

I definitely fucking disagree here. I think their best albums, other than Bergtatt, are Perdition City, a Quick Fix of Melancholy, and Blood Inside. I think that stuff was brilliant. And Theme 7 from Lykanthropen Themes, I have on a playlist for when I go to sleep.

Ulver, Arcturus, Solefald, Virus, Ved Buens Ende, Transcending Bizarre, Maudlin of the Well, are all amazing.

It seems to me black metal is almost the only thing you like. I do think Bergtatt is a really good black metal classic.

I say arch enemy, but i also say agallok. I think Duff's pronunciation for agalloch is correct.

Yeah, Agallok (Agalloch) is correct, but Ark...nope. Though i understand english isn't Duff's first language, so its all good, i just wanted to clear that up.

Ulver's BM is the best black metal there is.

In other news I joined a melogay death metal band who think they're black metal.

Oh, and I once said Arch Enemy and this weed dealer corrected me. He said It's pronounced Ark. He didn't know the band, he just said that's how to say that word.

Sup Ghoul. Name 5 awesome bands that I'll like and say them so I can hear them or read them and I will listen to them and we will all be happy people.

Or the japanese Fastkill or Barbatos (also japs) or Blasphemophagher(Italians)...shit.

So Fleshgod Apocalypse's album is the best release of 2009.

Classically influenced Technical Brutal Death Metal.

It's worth giving the Deris era a listen to. I suggest listening to a few songs from Better than Raw, The Dark Ride and Gambling with the Devil and see what you think of the more recent stuff by Helloween.
Well as I said, I dont really like the more recent stuff, so idk...I might like it might not.

Eh, give it a shot anyway. Like you said, you might like it or you might not. It doesn't hurt to give it a try.

Ulver's BM is good.
As is their new stuff.

Garm is just tits.

And its Agallok but you can't just pronounce it as a 'k'. Its got to be pronounce as the 'ch'. Its a throatier sound.
Its like a cross between luck and look whilst vomiting.

You get told off by Scots for not knowing this :P.

Arch and Ark are the same, just depends on how you pronouce it really.

So, Opeth concert yesterday... FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The setlist was PERFECT. The sound was PERFECT. They played cover songs from the Beatles and Deep Purple (yes, they played soldier of fortune and they were going to play Smoke on the Water, but they stop :( ). The people was GREAT, they sang for every song they played.
Mikael is a great showman, and Mendez talk us in spanish :P

Perfect concert. Bests Mikael quotes:
"Do you recognise this song?
*starts playing Smoke on the Water riff and suddenly stops*
"Well, we want YOU to shout like this in our nex song"

"Our next song is Clearence... in fact, I think you can actually DANCE to this song... do you want to DANCE????"

"You can shout loud, but when I sing with this mic, I shout louder! OOOH!"
*Croud goes OOOOOOOOHHHH!!!!!*
"...... SHIT!"

I knew I wasn't wrong about all the pronounciation stuff, I'm pretty sure that it's pronounced Ark Enemy. I used to say Arch Enemy, but my parents who are both very good in English told me it wasn't the correct pronounciation.

And even though I may look like someone who has a very bad English, but it's not my first language and compared to other persons in my situation, I'm pretty good in English.

Also, I've been attacked by a mutter.
