Checked out a band today called Comatose Vigil. They're Funeral Doom band from Russia along the lines of Shape of Despair.

Really worth checking out.

I'm also not a big fan of Opeth anymore. Dude, phases are fucking weird. I'm more into music as a whole now, alot of rock, blues rock, doom rock/metal, psychedelia and shit. And punk. Alot of punk. Carcass fucking killed last night. Much of their setlist was taken from Heartwork and Necroticism, and Ken Owen (old drummer) did a drum solo for about 2 minutes, though he said he wanted to do it much longer. I guess he just couldn't last, but anyway, this is the only show he's playing at on Carcass' U.S. tour. Today he's just touring around Manhattan and Staten Island while Carcass is scheduled to play a show at Montreal, and tomorrow he's taking a flight back to England.

Suffocation played a new song, entitled Mental Hemorrhage, which everyone went crazy for. Other than that, everything else they played was stuff I heard them play less than 2 months ago. No Breeding The Spawn or Funeral Inception. Some fat fuck came from behind me and partially landed on my head during Entrails of You, and my neck still hurts a little bit.

Necrophagist had essentially the same setlist from the last time I saw them, except it was cut shorter, and just like always, they started with Stabwound and ended with Fermented Offal Discharge. This is my first time seeing Romain Goulon on drums though, when last year it was Marco Minnemann. They really need to come up with some new material soon.

1349 (with Tony Laureano drumming) = fucking win. First time seeing them (I missed them in April 2007), and they played stuff like Riders of the Apocalypse, To Rottendom, Sculptor of Flesh, Hellfire, and Nathicana.

And Aborted, I already saw them downtown in June. They were better this time, and their set seemed a bit longer, though I guess it was still about the same.

Rotten Sound was just a big fail...nothing remarkable about them, and easily the worst band last night.

Pics will be uploaded later, though I'm probably not going to post all of them.
