I find it hard to believe he can just straight up like avant-garde. I'm having trouble liking avant-garde.
Also, Windir is awesome.

It's a shame. They allow extremely shitty adverts to appear on TV.

That's fine, but I like all their albums, even the Deris ones.

Oh lucky, I have a friend and he likes Slipknot, new Metallica, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. I tried to turn him on to real metal but he refuses because he's a dick. He's horrified of CC and Nile though, it's hilarious. He thinks that they're actually serial killers and all that.

Shit, what would happen if you made him listen to Burzum?

I don't know, he'd probably shit himself. His growl is perfect. It sounds like he's getting lowered slowly into boiling water while getting a cat rammed up his ass and recieving double nipple twisters, but you know, in a good way. He's basically a faggot, sometimes he's hard to put up with, but I try not to be a jerk or whatever.
Hey guys, long time no talk. Been having problems with the laptop, as well as working lots of hours, so I've been very unsocial lately. If any of you are technocomputer geeks, you may find my post in the Programmer's forum interesting. IM me a reply:

I have for some strange reason lost the sound drivers on my Mobile AMD Sempron three thousand plus laptop while playing AoE2. It started sounding weird, then all of a sudden after finishing AoE, nothing. No sound.
The only information I have about the laptop is that it's got an ATI Radeon Xpress "two hundred" M and a PCI Express Graphics cards. I had this problem with my old VIA, and once again using the reboot disk does not replace the driver. Can anyone point me the way to the correct AC97 driver?

Taste in music doesn't come about by practice.
You either like it or you don't.

Agreed.
Forcing yourself to like a type of music in order to be "Open minded" or to seem smart, all of that shit is whack.
Simply because there is no need to like everything, there is a lot of crap music out there.
And who are you doing it for?
Are you forcing music down your throat for yourself?
Who profits from this?
No one.
Look, I really fucking hate punk, and I fucking hate nu metal, and Metalcore. I also really don't like
Why?
Not because it all sounds the same (it does though)
Because I just simply don't like the sound of the style.
Most black metal pretty much sounds the same, but I still like it, because I like the style.
Just think about music as food.
I like the taste of Cheese.
Just plain cheese with nothing else.
Now someone else walks up to me, This person likes Salmon and Caviar, and he starts going "You're stupid for liking Cheese"
Sure, his food might be harder to make.
It might be really rare, and really expensive, But that doesn't possibly make it somehow better than my Wheel of Cheese.
Caviar can be really expensive and hard to make, but It still tastes like fucking salt.
Since it's just a fucking Taste, Just like all music is just a Sound.
Musical snobs can blow me.
Everyone likes cheese.
Sound is a strange sense though. Phallos is saying he can't get into Avant-Garde, and as I said, don't listen to it if you can't. But with Avant-Garde and Experimental music it does require some kind of training in terms of appreciating it.
If we look at a surrealist painting or abstract painting we can see that its interesting and whatnot. Like Dali, a lot of people like his paintings and have no objections to the abstract nature of it. But get some of those people to listen to Moonchild and it'll fuck their brains up. We're raised to like diatonic sounds, not dissonant ones. And Avant-Garde is often difficult to listen to.
But to smooth this out and make it so I'm not defending Ponos from myself. You can't force it.
Maybe you'll check it out in a while and love it.
When Ghoul first recommend Arcturus to me I wasn't overly keen. A while later when I gave it a listen for a bit of a change on the bus I absolutely fell in love with them.
I also never liked Sugar Puffs as a child.
So music is like anal sex. Don't force it.
MY ANALOGY > KIDDS!
Avant-garde metal is great. So is cheese.
I'm now checking out Manes.

My friend Russell broke like five of his ribs in a mosh pit when a huge-ass Viking motherfucker fell onto him, with his knee brought up to his chest as he fell, so that he put all of his weight onto his knee and therefore directly into Russell's ribcage.
fucking brutal

I'm not sure. Not just about avant-garde metal, but avant-garde in general. It's too deep and fancy for me. I listened to some Ulver and it was just wow.

Pssht, only pussies wear motorcross armor. Real riders only wear a helmet, shorts, shirt, and running shoes when they go riding.
joking.
But yeah, falling off motorbikes suck, which is why i don't do it on mine as much anymore.

i dunno tho, tastes change and mature over time, just like taste in cheese can =). theres other exceptions too, one band can act as a 'gateway' to tons of other styles unexpectedly and lead you to other bands. for example i couldnt stand metal before i got into black sabbath, and from there to doom, and from doom to black, avant, thrash etc. just like i wouldnt listen to jazz if it wasnt for getting in to zappa. but fair enuff literally forcing yourself to like something you clearly dont is a waste of time.
