hey since we are always talking about bands i wanted to know what bands are Democrats and Republicans. i already know Megadeth is democratic because of their songs and they were at a democratic convention in like 1993 or 1994.

Not their best albums, especially not the first, but still good. Very nice price, though.

I just got my first Blind Guardian cds also, Tales From The Twilight World, which is pretty good, and Nightfall In Middle Earth, which I don't really like that much.
What are some of their best albums?

Nightfall In Middle Earth, in my opinion, is their best. Apart from it though i'd reccomend Imaginations From The Other Side.

I also think that Nightfall In Middle Earth is one of their best.

But I recommend "Somewhere Far Beyond" as well, it's very nice.

yes, I don't like 100 Demons though, didn't watch it.

Gorelord, looks like linking from metalarchives is not allowed. Doesn't work.

Charon, you should really try to get Immortal's song "Solarfall" from somewhere, it's amazing.

well about new bands, i think everyone should check out
Skunk Ape who's an awesome band from Florida. They've got a new kind of metal sound that doesn't suck. I usually have a link to a page where you can download some of their songs for free, but i keep losing it. when i get it again, i'll post it. Skunk Ape is awesome. Check them out.

thats the site for the Mode 4

the amp I'm going to buy also has a nice high-gain mode :) amazing for thrash sounds.

awesome, also if you are looking into a nice wah I suggest an Ibanez Weeping Demon, it gives some nice full force tones, which are all fully adjustable

i like it when they look wierd or have some sort of outfits or what ever it makes them more distinguishable from all the other bands because whilst there is a general dress code for black metal its varies so much its great :D

I'm not about to post an essay here, so if you're still wondering why Black Metal has such a specific image, then AIM me for the infro, incl. Info on the Corpsepaint and Spikes'n'studs. For now I bought 1349's Beyond the Appocalypse, Cradle's Damnation and A Day, and also got my Trivium CD (FREE!!!11 THROUGH 1ST CLASS AIRMAIL TOO!!!11) From RoadRunners. Klick mein link for access to Cradle track. =) All music mention above is A-OKAY and rawx0rz for a Black Metaller like me.

Sounds nice, but I'm thinking of gettting a D(eath)D(istortion) Hi-Gain pedal, in case that the Thrash distortion ain't enough :)

try to avoid getting pedals specifically for "death metal" or whatever because they'll end up getting on your nerves because they're not very adjustable. try some that are more simple and changable. i've tried Digitech's Death Metal, and it's just way too much. sure, you get a huge hi gain pedal, but then you're stuck with it, and it will soon become highly irritating. try mixing a plain Distortion pedal with some of your amp's own overdrive....

Hi! i havent posted in a really long time....i feel so out of the loop. I've been doing more vocals for some other random bands around here. But i have to stop for a while because my vocal chords are all sore from screaming :-/ . But i might acctually have a band that just wants me to do all of their vocals, their name is EMC...there kind of punkish which im not so happy about but im getting really sick of jumping from band to band. They're also willing to do some metal stuff for me so i think that i will probably just do it.

I agree with Highdetailgrotesque (sorry if i spelt it wrong) about the specific pedals, there super annoying i had one and i ended up giving it back to my uncle because it pissed me off so much.

Later,
Maddie

I'd try them out in the store anyway, but you might be right. I have heard good stuff about the distortion of the amp I'm getting anyway, so maybe I don't even need one. Thanks for the info, though.

But KD isn't Black Metal

Response to Metal Hell 2005-02-04 12:29:02

It's a fucking long story cut super short but here goes:

Once apon a time, there was a guy called King Diamond. He was into satanic themes, alongside Venom. Neither were black metal, but they weren't Death either. They decided to toe between several lines. Later, a band called Bathory took the music of Venom, and its looks, and formed the first 'real' Black Metal band in our modern day sense. Their predecesors, like Dark Throne and Mayhem drew the studded clothes image from the inventors of the genre name, Venom, the shocking corpsepaint from King Diamond, and the sounds of Bathroy to make the look we see from the early 90's to present. It was all in the name of a declared war against Death Metal and the Church rather than to 'show off' and 'look evil'.

yeah, you're welcome. lately, i've been very irritated with my tone. i have a GNX3, but all the gain and distortion i was using with the Metal Zone modeler was pissing me off cause it was just way too much. i uploaded a couple songs into the audio portal and it kinda just sounds like crap cause of all the gain i used, and then the EQ after i recorded. i started all over the other day, and i'm recording another thing to put in the audio portal, and hopefully it will sound better. and if your amp has good distortion you like, just use that, and maybe add a smidge of overdrive with another pedal if you want more....
