Also check out Highlander (The One), Lost in the Depths of Me, Think Not Forever, and Cry of a Restless Soul.

They've only got two full length albums out but in my opinion the second one far surpasses the first. And unfortunately baldy is no longer in the band, but they'll probably find someone well suited for the open spot.

Try out Borknagar...a great mix of blck metal, folk, and progressiveness. Also, for symphonic black try out: Alghazanth, Arcturus, Emperor, Limbonic Art, Stormlord, Tvangeste.

Progressive? Well there's Rush, Opeth, Agalloch (great progressive folk with black metal vocals), Time Requiem (progressive keyboard-driven neo-classical), Orphaned Land (progressive middle-eastern folk metal with both clean and death vocals), Into Eternity (their latest release is a tad it too core for me), Between the Buried and Me (progressive metalcore, but fucking GOOD SHIT, very technical as well), Atheist (technical as fuck progressive death/thrash).
