Quick question: Me and my friend play metal and do some songs occasionaly. I wouldn't call us a group, because it isn't a regular thing, but here goes: I'm playing a Squier Strat right now, but I plan to get something else soon. I was thinking of a Les Paul Flying V, but I want your opinion. Remember, I'm a metalhead.

if you are looking for something that has a good sound, specifically if you are gonna play more than metal, you can never go wrong with a gibson/les paul. if you plan on playing mostly metal and want more of something for an image (since the sound will mostly be covered up by distortion anyway) i reccomend b.c. rich. they have a nice "metal" image to their guitars.

I personally have a B.C. Rich NJ beast in black. I love the guitar but I wouldn't recommend it. The shape is a bit annoying to deal with.

With that said I'd say that alot of peopel tend to like jackson guitars. I want one. Alexi Laiho loves jackson guitars all of my friends are looking to get jackson guitars (all of my friends are metal heads) so I'd say a jackson would be an alright choice. What specifically would have to be your choice but that's my opinion.

Thanks guys, this will give me something to work with. I'll probably get another amp next time, too. This10-watt is good, it's just that it's barely audible next to my friends 30 and 50.

Yeah nice selection, they would all make it into my top 10 at least, except for Nightwish, not because i dont like them, just because I havent really heard any of their stuff. In Flames has got to be my favourite band now, I find i now have 7 of their cd's.
As said one that would make my top 5 that isn't on there is Arch Enemy.
