Thanks, I try.
Haven't done anything really worth showing lately. I've been slackin' yo.
Originally this was just going to be the hanging boombox dude, but I decided to throw in the businessman. I wish I hadn't. I'll be returning to this boombox dude later, though.
Acrylic painting WIP probably not going to get around to finishing it though.
Thanks to Dark for setting me in the right direction for painting.
You know that thing I said I probably wouldn't finish?
Well I finished it.
turns out it was mostly done anyway.
I don't know, I'm just not into it right now. I've been trying to do some cooler stuff but it just isn't happening. Maybe later.
More Jester Girl thing. Not liking it too much.

You should think about working on the composition a bit more before your friend actually gets this tattooed. It isn't bad, but it's something that'll be pretty much permanently attached to him.
I thought I'd make life a bit easier on both of us, so I made you a handy reference for my critique. Sorry about the wall of text.
Picture 1
The first thing that I noticed was the strong directional movement pulling you out of the picture. In The Great Wave (Picture 4), the rhythm of the waves form this exaggerated spiral that pulls your eye all around the composition. You kind of have this happening on the far right side of your picture, but the main thrust of movement shoots you straight off the picture.
Picture 2
You have two focal points vying for dominance. Pretend they're fighting. Whichever one has the highest Emphasis Points (EP) wins.
The first is your sun. Since it's any orangy yellow, it pulls you to it; let's say the sun has a base EP of 30. The sun, however, is really close in value to the rest of the background (picture 3) so it starts to recede into the background, giving it a -5 emphasis debuff. It really isn't an active object either. it's basically two concentric circles, which, in this case doesn't really help or harm it's EP. Overall, the sun's EP is 25.
The other competitor is the wave. It's color doesn't contrast greatly with the sky, so let's say it only starts out with 10 EP. The wave brought two strong buffs with it, though. First, it's both your lightest and darkest values(picture 3), so you immediately pay attention to it. That's a +10 buff right there. Second, the tips of the wave are super active, giving the wave another 10 EP. The wave has a commanding 35 EP.
So the wave's 30 EP beats out the sun, but not by much. Though, that also means the the primary focus of the picture is also what pulls you out of it.
Look at The Great Wave again. The tallest wave is the picture's focal point. it's the area of highest contrast, both in terms of value and color. That part of the picture is also the most active.
Sorry if any of this isn't clear, and good luck on whatever else you're working on.
.
Thanks for the info, I definitely agree wit all that you said taking a second look at the drawing. I linked my friend all of the stuff you said and told him to take it into consideration.

That was the most wonderful piece of constructive criticism I have ever seen in this forum!

By the way I totally won that, it made me $250 richer. Strangely it failed to fill the gaping hole in my soul.
Anyway, here's a painting I did for fun (or something similar to fun anyway).
Reading through this thread was great. It was a breath of fresh air to see you improve a lot since 2009. (I think the first post was 2009). Digging your creativity now.

Thanks man, I've come a long way since then. I'm flattered you took the time to slog through all of my work. Hopefully I can get to posting more often.
Also Happy Easter everybody. I didn't have time to do a better drawing so here's a scribbly sketch of a confused Jackalope.
I liked the idea of this one but I didn't really put enough into actually figuring out how to draw what I wanted to draw.
Also here's the art portal link to that vexon I drew earlier.
Here's a work in progress.
Acrylic on canvas. its about 15x30
I need to actually learn how to use my tablet, or something.
I'm still a thing that exists.
I've mostly just been doing scribbly sketches but here's a thing I did because I like a band.

Man, look at that sexual tension right there.
Rogue's like "I want you", and Gambit's like "Pfff, I know"
