The thing that should be respected is the "manageable" way thingy that BIGMANBRAINY was talking about, the fact that you don't have to listen to the others. Do it your way you know.
Don't implement everyone that is besides a certain limit that'll give you too much work !

Welcome to the final stand of the full ~6.00 VP+ list. I haven't quite decided how to trim the list next time, but as it's jumped from 582 people to 610 people (28 new additions!) for this 4th incarnation of my insanely big VP list, I'm considering the following possibilities: 7.00 cutoff (currently top 326), 7.50 cutoff (currently top 220), 8.00 cutoff (currently top 142). Of these, the most likely is the 7.50. But if I finish the 7.50 zone next update and still have the motivation and energy to continue, I may well make it down to 7.00 instead. In any event, this full list COULD always return if I institute a "every so often I update the whole damned thing" policy, kinda how NGling did top 160 every 6 days and his full list only every month... for me, it'd be more like every season I'd do the whole thing... every 3 months, IOW. We'll see when I next update it. Keep your fingers crossed if you're in the 7.00-7.50 range that I'm having a good day that day, I suppose. #;-}> Oh, but if you're not on the list and want to be added, feel free to say so. I'd prefer it, however, if only people above 6.50 would ask to be added to the pool. Keep in mind that while I'll track you, you won't be on the everytime list until you hit 7 or 7.5, though.

It would have been yesterday, but all the NG downtime this weekend really screwed up my list updating. I was going to do the top 50 lists early Saturday morning but NG wouldn't cooperate... I go to sleep... I wake up Saturday afternoon... and the profiles are down for maintenance... and then I go to sleep in the evening and wake up at like 3 AM on Sunday morning and NG's down for like 6 hours when I would have been doing this update.

In the 2 months I've been updating this list after NGling stopped doing it, you haven't once posted in either topic to tell me you're not on the list.

I don't add people unless I HAPPEN to notice they should be on the list, or someone tells me about them (like jonthomson did with a bunch of names a page or two back), or they themselves say "hey, I'm not on the list" like half the posts on the first two pages of this topic are.

Anyway, two b/p ranks would certainly help, but you'd still be under 6.00, and that's not enough to be on the next update. You'll be on the long updates only, which will start to be less frequent from now on. Sorries. If it makes you feel better, my alt (right under you at 5.50 VP) is in the same boat.

You and staphita got teh passed by UND (who ranked up) and Crono (who didn't).

The reason Crono passed you is that he gets more VP per exp deposit because his exp and level is lower than yours, and his b/p bonus is higher. He gained like 0.07 VP from the same amount of days and exp deposits that you got 0.05 from.

You'll be passing staphita soon, though. So no worries.

I noticed the 5th page is about to begin, so just a little note that will hopefully be more visible by itself up here at the top of this page:

I'm only going down to 7.50 or 7.00 VP next update. And probably a couple updates after that. Every couple months or so I may do down to 6.00 or so.

But I just wanted to AGAIN state that since it might have gotten buried in all the text at the start of my update, as at least one person didn't notice and despite their <6.00 VP said they hope to move up on the next update. That ain't gonna happen, so I'm sorry, but dem's de breaks. It comes down to this list happening often enough to satisfy the high VPers, including myself, or not happening very often at all because it's so draining to do all 600 people.

One idea that I would give to you to is to do what I plan on doing in the future for my monthly review updates - the day before you do the update, check the people who would be borderline for inclusion on the main list (be that 7.00+ or what, check down to 6.7 say). That way it a) breaks the job up into two chunks and b) ensures you don't miss anyone out that got a surprising rank up or two.

It's similar to how I work the monthly review update - I check all that are between 100 and 199 reviews the day before to see which of those will have moved up to over 200 for inclusion, and they can then be checked with the rest of the people the following day.

Again... there were like 5 people above 7.50 added to the list, including Wylo and The Redeemer in the top 100 and a couple others in the top 200 at the very LEAST, so...

That's a very good idea, now that I won't be updating the full list. I was basically gonna go down until I hit 7.50 or 7.00, whichever I got tired of doing the list at... then keep going for 50 or so more people, but only type their VPs down if they were OVER the new limit.

But yeah, sure, I could break it into two. Do them first. Start at maybe 7.60, go down from there updating everyone and seeing who'll be on the list and who won't.

Better than doing it the day before, though, would be doing it right after midnight so that it's technically the same day. Since VP can only change once per day, barring rankups, then I can just do the 7.60+ later that night before the GG day ends and it'll be more or less accurate, in two big chunks, but all in the same day.

That's pretty freakin' awesome, though. Perfect timing had to happen, but it did. I love two rankup periods between updates. Needless to say, I've had a long time since those days, unless you count the huge time period between NGling stopping the VP list and me restarting it. I think I did rankup twice between those updates.
