Hello again Review Request club! Simon here, and fortunately not requesting another submition quite yet. Actually, steph, i have been trying to catch you for about a week now but i realise what i have to say really does affect the whole club so i thought i might post it up. First of all, i wish i was here with better news but after checking out this week's audio submitions and the ones from the last round, i have realized a drastic change in the quantity of reviews left. It has been about two weeks, and my submittion has yet to receive its first Review Request Club review. I am not mad because of this, in fact, it was quite expected. The Club is dying. It is obvious that with the end of the 100% streaks of our beloved reviewers has come the complete discouragment of almost all reviewers. If you want my opinion, i think the scoreboards are really holding the reviewers back just because they know they cant make 100%. So the two things i think will fix the club's issues are:
- First come first serve for the audio submitions: As in only one request a week per artist and the first 20 requests to be made will be the only ones put up on the list.
-No more ratios on the score boards. I think the points are good enough... Seriously, i promiss you it will make a difference in the amount of reviews you will get.
Also, give the review request club a break. I think you should do another list but then close down the club for a couple weeks to clean everything up. Then kick it back off with a bran new scoreboard. If your not in complete agreement, i think we should talk about it. I really want the best for the club and you know it =D.
Hey man, sorry for not being on MSN for a while. I have loads to do T_T.
Firstly, just to say that even though Coop83 and Haggard haven't done their 100% streaks anymore, we have new 100%ers ^^.
You're right about the fact that the audio requests are too much, although yours didn't get reviewed yet since we made the updates have 2 weeks inbetween instead of one, so instead of people getting to request 3 per week, it'd be 3 per 2 weeks, which did help out, since if you look at the last requests list, we have 28 Audio Requests, when sometimes we get 28 Audio requests in one week.
So yeah, you've probably seen that drastic change because those are requests in a time span of 2 weeks, not one xP. Yeah, I know this whole '2 weeks between every update' thing is slowing our pace, but it's one of the only things we can do to calm stuff down. The other suggestion was to make a new club called the 'Audio Review Request Club' where Audio is requested there and there'll be specific members doing audio there. The rest of the members will do Art and Flash. The only problem with that is that the Audio RRC will probably be close to empty because everyone likes Art and Flash, and the ones who'd be in Art and Flash RRC would get little to even no requests at all, some times.
I think the only other alternative is switching back to a 1 week update but only allowing people to post 3 requests per 4 weeks, although that would be problematic since if people see the OP if the thread and they see '3 requests per week', then they'd do that, and we have nothing that will tell them that it's changed to 3 requests per 4 weeks. Also, the main problem is the amount of audio artists asking requesting, not the amount of requests per audio artist, if you get what I mean.
Also, I think the idea of first come first serve is a little, well, cruel xP. I mean heck, we have to understand that Flash and Art, well, mostly Flash, don't NEED reviews. Their system is fine, and they get reviews. Audio's system is messed up, so the largest purpose of this club seems to be to review Audio. If we cut down on the Audio requests like that, people will start complaining, and once they find out the new rule, everyone will be in a rush to request first after the update, and then the new requesters who don't know the new rule yet will request at a normal time, when 20 requests have already been passed, they get no reviews, and they get a bad impression of the club.
Although I agree with you on the break thing. It might calm down the amount of people requesting, and it'll give us a breather. Maybe during the break we can try and recruit new members. We can even transfer everything to a new thread, where the OP would have updated guidelines so people see them the first time they enter the thread. We can lock this thread and link to the new thread. Perhaps a new scoreboard will encourage people to start 100% ratios. Still, I'm in no position to do anything like this without the consent of everyone else anyway.
Anyway, thanks a lot for bringing forth your opinion and supporting the club :D. We'll see what happens; if anyone agrees to anything said, then feel free to say so, although let's just finish off this week before we make any decisions ;).
