Welcome to a very special 175th update! Now you may notice that some of you made a dramatic rise in points. I gave everyone 100% this time (not due to laziness but as an apology to all of you for not being able to do any updates the past two months). I have also cleared any and all stars any members had meaning a fresh start in regards to being active here.
Wow, that's nice. The first 100% for what feels like YEARS!
I will try to review at least some of the requests from the list, but I might not be able to do anything until the weekend. :(
I am hereby submitting a formal application of interest in joining.

Could have one paragraph stating what you thought was good about the content and the second paragraph and onward could expand on what needs to be improved. For good examples, check mine, @Killingyoutwice, @Haggard, @SkyeWintrest, @artistunknown for good examples.
I was wondering why I received a notification for this, and then I saw the mention. Glad to know my reviews are good enough to be used as examples :3
Hey guys I'd love to see some reviews on my newest Drum and Bass Song:
Many thanks in Advance ^^
I acutally got something worth your time I promise
Hey all it's Alto C9 here jumping back into the game after a long time out of commission.
This track talks about my way of thought in relation to what i have in my pocket.
A lot of times as a musician there is struggle but there is more struggle to be had in rough places like the hood i grew up in...
Dealing with the "Norms" of my culture i had to conform or disappear all together, and i did exactly that.
Coming out of my "basement"/ back room.
Looking for some reviews on sound and lyrics and structure. I recorded this with a usb mic against the door to my closet with no mic stand so i am curious what it sounds like to other ears.
Thanks again.

Shit. Still haven't done any reviews. :(
Also I herby request to let Cyberdevil join in. Active reviewers is what this club needs the most right now. ^^
So got suggested to use this, I am looking for constructive critique about my recent work http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/553591 , first off I do not wish to advertise my stuff, as I am looking for feedback and opinions for improvement , if the music is crap or good, because I am finding it hard to get my shit out there.
Thanks , Much Love
Namaste
Uhm, oh man, it's been awhile.
Could I get some feedback on this?
Thanks.

Okay, I give in, I'lll join :3
And finally my 3 requests are in the update! Three less things I'll have to review though, heh.
Now to look up how to tally up my points and then off to reviewing, starting tomorrow!

Adding "Review Request Club" at the end of reviews not only helps give publicity to the club, it also gets you 1 point.
Posting at least once a week gets you 3 points.
Doing all requests on the list gets you 7 points!
Alright, that's helpful. So since I have things in this week's list, which I obviously can't review them, does that mean I am unable to review all requests, or do those just not count for me?
Oh my gawd
i can't believe this still exists, i honestly thought this was gonna die out when i first saw it, anyway i want opinions on this xD
Would you believe that I want y'all to review a song that I just made today??
That's my Halloween submission this year. It'd be pretty great if I could get some feedback.
Hello everybody!
I am new here, but I am not new in the world of music.
I would appreaciate it very much if you would have reviews on my new solo piano song:

You are FREE to use this music in your animations or games or whatever,
but please tell me about it before actually using it, and also give me the credits. ;)
Thanks!
Hello, I made this recently, I would really appreciate some reviews on it, it's different to my normal stuff.
Thanks,
Cinovox
:)
Been a long time guys, but I just put out this new track... It's been ages since I made a new song, so please let me know what you think.
I was hoping somebody could let me know whats wrong with this.
I reviewed all the 3 tracks above. Gotta say. It's alright, but there is a room for improvement!
This is an oldie, but I was pretty proud with this soundtrack back in the days :P
And this is a battle theme soundtrack
Hi, I would like to be accepted into the Newgrounds.com Audio Portal please, so if you would listen to my tracks and scout me, thankyou a lot!

Well, I haven't done any reviewing lately. :(
I will try to get at least one done this friday.
Hello awesome heroes! It'd be great if you guys could review my latest (epic-orchestral-cinematic) work :)
As always, thanks in advance!
Hey RRC,
You probably don't know me, but I am the founder of the original RRC. I just dropped by on a whim to see if this club still exists, and I can't be more happy to see that it's not only alive, but thriving. It was an uphill battle to get the original approved and to develop a community of competent reviewers. It was an even bigger battle to maintain that community after its popularity exploded, as requests grew exponentially and veteran reviewers began to dwindle, myself included. I appreciate those who took the initiative to create a more organized group after learning the lessons that only 200+ pages of trial and error could have taught.
I am also proud to see that the new RRC has recently superseded the original in size - summing to a womping 500 pages worth of success. I am sure the moderation here has encountered its fair share of problems and challenges, new and old, and I appreciate the work it takes to maintain order in a forum-based setting.
As an NG alumnus of sorts, I just want to give a little piece of motivation to all of you reviewers: what you do is important. First of all, you need to understand the extent to which a well-thought out critical assessment of one's work can do for the individual. Sure some people will just spam this group to get more reviews for fake internet points or whatever, but others use Flash as a form of self-expression, and simply giving their work some attention can mean the difference between another dropped hobby and the motivation to create newer, improved projects. Nothing is more demoralizing than getting zero recognition for the laborious time and effort spent on a project, no matter what the medium may be.
Secondly, stop being stat-thirsty and take a moment to appreciate the benefits that writing all of these reviews has on you. I have written over 1,000 reviews during my time on NG. Hitting that 1k mark was the goal to my stat-thirsty teen brain, and I busted my ass writing reviews for hours on end in order to climb some arbitrary review leaderboards - hell, I became so obsessed at some points that I sometimes didn't even watch the flash (took too much time out of reviewing, of course!). I'm sure many of you have tried similar short-cuts to writing reviews at one point or another; if you do find yourself half-assing reviews or complete-assing them like I did, you should take a second and evaluate what you're doing. Whatever stat goals you may have on this site may seem important now, but trust me, they are insignificant in the real world... but does that mean I regret writing all of those reviews? Hell no. I wrote over One Thousand complete, critical analyses before the time I hit 16. I didn't even notice I was doing it at the time, but you wouldn't believe how much my writing was improving - grammar, prose, vocabulary - you name it. I always just figured I was inherently more talented than my peers. That's a lazy smart kid thing to do; don't do that you lazy smart kids.
Here's a little experiment: sift through your first few pages of reviews and compare them to the latest few pages. Notice a difference? It's probably monumentous. It's probably the equivalent to comparing a grade-schooler's writing to a collegiate. Be proud of that difference - use it as your primary motivation to keep writing. You're likely not going to become a professional reviewer, but the ability to write and critically review will be vital in any field you may find yourself in. For instance, I'm currently in the Molecular Biology field, and I have to analyze and peer review dense publications all the time. Who knew habitually reviewing silly animations would evolve into such a helpful, necessary skill in my personalized field?
I'm sure this won't relate to all of you. Some of you may even be older than me; regardless of age, my points still stand. If this can stimulate at least one fellow reviewer to write better, more in-depth reviews for the right reasons, then I will be thrilled. Keep doing what you guys do best, and never stop improving.
Best,
FM
