Most of my previous reviews are probably kinda short I know (most I think are just like "nice game, well done), but with more of a reason to write them I can definitely do them properly.

It's a good idea to encourage people to write good reviews because it's such a pleasure as a developer to read them.

Not a pleasure to get these:

"Your game wouldn't load. You suck. 0/10"

I play games, make games, read about games and talk about games, so I reckon it's time I wrote about them more. Cheers.

Well, if you're certain you can write good enough reviews for the club, then sure thing, you can join :). Remember to make the reviews well-organised, helpful, and around as detailed as the other members' reviews.

Don't forget to post your points at the end of the week if you want to be part of the club.

Animith took over the list since I was in Australia; the computer issues arose right when I got back. Heh, my computer's long dead now. I've been using my laptop all this time :P.

No problem. I had some free time and getting the list up faster means people reviewing the requests faster.

I don't think starting the club over will help too much. It's just that we are flooded with audio requests, so I guess it would help if we could cut down on them, maybe with a limit as in: We only add X audio reviews to the list, the others won't get added and people would have to request them again if they really want a review. Seems a bit unfair, but the current situation isn't that good as well with so many requests not recieving any reviews.

OK, first few reviews written- just went back over the thread and picked the most recent requests...
It's definitely something I have the time for- it's easily done first thing while I have my coffee.

Is that how it's done, or is there a weekly/ daily list or something?

Haven't seen any games to review yet, but I usually play something at lunchtime so I'll have a look then.

Now I'm gonna do some real work!

My goal is to keep my 100% streak.

I thought up of this nifty idea in my head which is to detailed to go in to right now but I plan on every list I get all request done. The day I don't finish all the request I will do something embarrassing or something. I hope these guys like reviews cause they going to be getting them.

Noice mang! I had my 100% run for a while and I might muster it up to do it again soon. Anything to help with the audio though. Without steph having the time to do them it's been hard for me to go through all of them. Idk if you noticed but we had a few lapses on getting them all done.

Professional

Hardly professional, but they're obviously well-written :P. Just work on splitting your reviews into paragraphs. I can't stress how much more organised my reviews were when I started doing that, and I'm sure it has really helped the artists I reviewed.

Anyway, review the requests from the list over here and post your points before I update on Sunday or Monday to join the club. Points system can be found in the first post.

Have fun reviewing!

OK then. Review Request Club history time :3.

The club is 6 years old. 6 years ago, Freelance-Magician made the old thread. I wasn't aware about it till when it was getting to an end (around page 200 or so I'd say) since I found some Review Request Club reviews on a song (Coop83's, Haggard's, Fro's, and one other person as far as I remember). I was interested in this 'Review Request Club' signature that I saw under every one of their reviews since at the time my reviews were a little big, so I started searching for it.

Still, after finding the thread, I decided against joining it since I wasn't experienced in the forums (I never posted in them at the time) and didn't want to do something horribly wrong. Time passed, the old club got drowned by requests; some weren't reviewed, and the updates weren't done anymore, etc... So this new thread was started. I joined on Page 13 after I had a bit of posting experience in the forums.

Soapbubble joined at around the same time as me, so naturally we went against each other in a competitive race to the top of the member's list. This motivated me to keep a 100% rate going, which is what I did and eventually Soapbubble had school and started becoming inactive. Everything was going somewhat fine, with Coop83, Haggard, a guy called Insanimation and me doing all the requests most of the time. Then, on Page 40 I did my first update since Sonofkirk had announced on Page 39 that he wanted to take a long break from Newgrounds.

My first update took hours. I had to update 3 requests lists since that's how long Sonofkirk took to officially tell us that he's taking a break from Newgrounds. I messed it up since I didn't know about this, and the spreadsheets I made at the time weren't so good and required me to do more work than the spreadsheets had to do (now I've upgraded them to make them do most of the work, so much that it takes around half an hour to three quarters of an hour less to finish the update). Still, from the next update onwards, I started making the spreadsheets better and my updates had little to no mistakes.

20 pages later or so, the club started doing extremely well. Up to 6 people did all of the requests, and it was when Animith joined and kept up a long 100% rate. ChampionAnwar joined too, and stayed on the list for quite a while. Joshsouza was very active in the club as well, and even managed a few 100%'s.

At Page 78, Coop83 announced that he couldn't keep up with the Audio Requests anymore, Haggard announcing that soon after. From then on, we were relying on Animith, sixflab, RogerBK and I to get at least 2 requests per submission done, with some help from other members like CheppZanoff, Celx-Requin, ChampionAnwar and Shellac.

Here we started updating every two weeks, seeing if that might help decrease the amount of audio (that way we'd allow three audio requests per two weeks not per week) but that didn't help. This is around the time when you asked to join on Page 97.

I had already hinted before that I might need someone to help me out with updating while I was in Australia, but I officially announced it on Page 98. Animith was the first to volunteer. A few days later, Malachy forum-banned me.

I still would've been able to update since the ban was 3 days and would've ended on Saturday night, and Sunday is when I planned on doing the update, but after exchanging a few PM's with Malachy arguing about my ban (I wasn't insulting him or acting like a dick during the argument. I was just pointing out why I think my ban wasn't just) he added another day to my ban making it four days and I wasn't able to update since by Sunday I'd still have the forum-ban.

Took it as an opportunity to teach Animith how to use the spreadsheets and therefore she made the first update over here and did the requests list, which was our attempt at getting back to weekly updates (we were still at bi-weekly updates and it wasn't working).

When my ban ended, I took it as an opportunity to make the club info which we've been posting on every page till today. Here we introduced the rule of 3 Audio Requests per month, and it's been somewhat helping us, at least.

I went to Australia and Animith continued to update. I occasionally posted in the thread to comment about the requests list/update, check if there are any new members who want to join, and also do a few reviews, but that was about it. When I got back from Australia, I took over, and here I am.

AND WE ALL REVIEWED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, THE END.

Wow that was longer than I expected xD.

NOTE - READ THESE RULES, EVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ THE RULES IN THE FIRST POST. THEY ARE AN UPDATED VERSION OF THE RULES IN THE FIRST POST AND THEY HAVE NEW IMPORTANT RULES!

Hello! Welcome to the new Review Request Club thread. This thread is meant to give the club a fresh start and make it a pleasant place to stay. In order to do this, it goes without saying that you must follow the regular BBS rules and read the C&C Advice Thread before posting if you are new to this forum.

This club aims to increase the exposure of the most under-rated Newgrounds music, art and flash artists. The other major purpose of the club is to offer the Newgrounds artists high quality feedback so they can constantly improve their work.

To the requesters:
Every Newgrounds user is allowed to request a review as soon as he submitted something. To get your work reviewed, don't post here without thinking but follow these few rules:

- Post a direct link to the submission(s) you want reviewed.
- Make no more than 3 Flash and Art requests between two updates (that's one week), and no more than 3 Audio Requests between 5 updates (that's four weeks).
- Please respond to reviews, reviewers like it and some of them are statwho... oh wait, interested in stats.
- Be patient. Due to the points system, you may not see reviews until up to two weeks after you requested, or if you requested more than 1 Audio submission, you may not see reviews on your second submission up until 3 weeks after you requested, and you may not see reviews on your third submission up until 4 weeks after you requested.
- Do NOT request without posting a link, be kind, reviewers are not robots.
- Do NOT simply say "Review everything" or just link to your profile.
- Do NOT request reviews for the same submission more than once.
- Do NOT request reviews for a submission with over 50 reviews.
- Do NOT request reviews for spam. Spam is only there to annoy, not to be critically analyzed.
- Unless you are a club member, only request reviews for YOUR OWN submissions.

To the reviewers:
If you want to join the club and complete requests, simply post in the thread saying you would like to join. Then, regular members will go through your reviews and determine if they are good enough to be part of the club. Your reviews are required to be helpful, developed and well-organised. If you need help with writing good reviews, read Fro's guide to writing helpful reviews.

Once you are accepted, you can start reviewing stuff. If you are a new member of the club, once you understand how the point system works, please post - one or two days before the update - the total points you've earned during the week. This is considered as a sort of application form, and if you fail to do so, you will NOT be added to the club.

Points System:
List updaters will keep track of each member's points in order to build a list. You don't need to post your points before each update but you can keep track of your score on your own so any error can be fixed. This is how points are counted:

5 points for a review on a requested submission (movie, game, art, or audio).
1 point for writing "Review Request Club" at the bottom of a requested review.
3 points for posting at least once throughout the two weeks.
5 points for referring a new member (must mention you in first post).
7 points for reviewing all requests/recommendations between two updates.

Club Updates:
Each Sunday or Monday, a list of all the members is created, counting up their points, featuring various stats and posting a list of requested submissions. Assuming you review the submissions in that list, you will get points for them accordingly in the following members' update, around a week later.

Don't forget the lists are built and updated by humans so it may be possible the update is delayed due to various real life reasons. If it ever occurs, don't get mad; calm down and wait :).

Frequently Asked Questions:

Should we have an FAQ?
I don't know. It kinda seems like overkill.

Why a new thread?
The main idea was to give the club a new and fresh start. Since the old one was flooded by requests and not updated any more, the RRC regulars thought creating a new thread would be best for the club.

Should I link to the club in my forum signature?
There's no obligation to do so, but it's certainly appreciated. Remember that you can put a high number in place of the page number in the URL and if that page doesn't exist yet, Newgrounds will take you to the latest page, whatever it is. For example, "http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/107 2042/999" will take you to the latest page of this club.

RRC Signature?
Yes, at the end of each review, if you want you can write down 'Review Request Club'. There is no obligation to do so, but you'll get +1 point if you put the RRC signature in your review. You can add anything you want to it, E.G.: *Review Request Club*, |Review Request Club|, -Review Request Club-, etc, but as long as 'Review Request Club' is clearly written, you will get the point. You are also allowed to add the sig in any reviews other than requests in this club, as long as you are a club member yourself. It's all the more exposure for the club, and it's very much appreciated.

+1 point if I put the RRC signature in my review... I'm not sure if I get it correctly.
You gain 6 points for a review on a request with "Review Request Club" in the end of it, as opposed to 5 points if you hadn't added the signature at the end. If it's still not clear, read this.

Does the Review Request Club review for non-NG stuff?
No. It must be an NG submission. If you have a non-NG submission which you would like us to review, then use your common sense and upload it to NG. Also, we will only review using the 'Write a Review' method on submissions. We won't send reviews by PM, review in your newspost or review in any particular thread of yours.

Do I have to review all the requests?
No you don't have to, just do your best :). Though completing them all will give you 7 extra points.

Which requests should I review?
If you want to get points for the next member's update, look for the latest requests list in the club thread and review the requests from that list. If you review any requests from various posts in the thread which would have been posted after the latest requests list, you will be getting points for the member's update after the next one.

can u review allz mah flashz guise? kthxbai.
No.

If you have more questions, feel free to post about it in the thread or PM a member and if your question is frequently asked, it'll be added to the FAQ.

---

That's all about the club, though this new version of the club couldn't be opened without mentioning the old thread regulars who have made it a great place to spend time. Kudos to Freelance-Magician for creating the original club and to milinko959 for maintaining it for so long. Thanks also to Sonofkirk for starting this new thread and doing many updates.

Have fun!

Don't worry. I usually forget to put it if i'm doing other stuff while reviewing. Looks like we'll have a good group of reviewers again and some people behind me on the list consistently reviewing. This club is much more fun when there is some competition going on.
