Does anyone have any tips for level 13? It's the first level where you encounter the bogeyman, and the level before the last one.
My general strategy is to get 3/4 books with pictures ready at the start, get an catapult in each row, and defeat the ghosts with dollhouses and slowly get a column of diggers, but there are just too many of them. In other levels this worked, but it doesn't for this level... Are there any toys you'll want for this level?
The elite plastic soldiers are way too expensive. I can set a complete column (or row, whatever is downwards) of them, but then the skeletons grab them, and a lot of my picture books.
At one time I even reached the last wave without any fantasy or books left.
Set up defenses only where you need to.
Smart Aliens are good for general defenses, as they cover three lanes and have respectable damage. They also quickly decimate Mini Bogeymans. They may be on the expensive side, but they're cheaper than lining up three basic defenses, and they do more damage.
I find the dollhouses to be fairly worthless other than a last-ditch attempt to defeat ghosts. AFAIK, they will never recharge.
Use Baby Booms to quickly dispatch of any Skeleton or flying enemies. These do NOT work versus ghost enemies. It might work to 1-shot the Bogeyman after he has started attacking, but I didn't get the chance to do this. Hungry Dinos are useful for other varieties of enemies, such as Wolves and Vampires. (You can also use Hungry Dinos to kill Witches, for the lulz.)
Double Dinos are expensive, but these are the best at stopping Skeletons from stealing your books. The DPS is also high, and they last a fair while when attacked. Generally you don't have to worry about Skeletons stealing your things that do regular damage.
If you're going to use Diggers to stop Bogeymans, better make sure they can finish the job before they attack. Diggers are ineffective versus attacking Bogeymans.
Plastic Soldiers and Elite Plastic Soldiers have bad damage and low durability for their cost. I do not recommend these.
Mom destroys everything in the first two columns next to your bed, but only once as a failsafe measure! After that, it is up to you to do whatever it takes to stop the nightmares from reaching you. If you need to scrap your book or another toy to put down something that will get the job done fast, do it!
.
There's a Nightmare mode after you beat the first 14 levels, in that most of your toy inventory is randomized. I'm currently at 11/12 Nightmare, and the sheer amount of fliers and ghosts and Skeletons is making things extremely difficult.
