Well, that was deceptively easy. It turns out you can just stay put and hold shift and keep clicking on yourself, and you'll dodge pretty much everything. You still need to destroy the enemies that fire multiple missiles before they fire, though, or else you're going to get hit by a bunch of missiles all at once. 3 more medals down, now I need to decide whether I care about the rest of them.

Thanks for the heads up! You helped me figure it out... or at least a little bit. I gotta keep practicing with it though, because I screwed up and stopped and couldn't get the boost going again.

You can boost at any time, other than the countdown stage. To boost more, just double-click your character again. In fact, you'll need it again during space travel.

...though I don't remember if you need it during orbit.

Thanks for the heads up, Fooliolo. I wasn't aware of that, and was just gonna post about how that damn rocket kept disappearing from the screen, even though I boosted.

I finally got the hang of it now thanks to all your guys' help and beat it on easy (baby steps).

I'm actually really liking Operation LOAD so far, but one thing that I'm having to complain about is the lack of instructions. I'm aware the game tells you about the pause menu and all the other goodies, but there's also a lot it doesn't tell you. Here are the ones I feel are important:

--Buying powerup levels from the upgrades menu gives you the ITEM. It doesn't make the powerups any stronger. There's two levels up powerups (except the bomb), and you can simply pick up two of one kind of powerup to get the 2nd level. It's not worthwhile imo.

--You can keep boosting like the untouchable fag you are and your missile will boost to keep up with you. This is how you get the time bonus. (I got a time of "7:65", worth "+- 4629". Wat???) The enemy planet is at 170 km.

--When loading rockets (by click and holding yourself), you can see how many rockets you have loaded by the number on the bottom left corner. You can also move around while doing this. Level 4 rocket upgrade is enough to wombo combo the boss btw.

I love that game but every time i stop to buy upgrades my hand automaticly goes to the arrow keys and i die lol

The author took it down the first time, because it was getting hammered by poor reviews for it's buggy controls. He didn't want a low score for it. He probably took it down again for similar reasons.

Reading the comments, it seems the author is very concerned about the score and the reviews, and for me he has no knowledge about the importance of updating the game instead of delete it twice ...

I have no idea what your talking about I've been playing it for like 2 hours and the controls have not bugged it has not crashed etc... It fact it was playing great. the only time my controls bugged was when I'd push the mouse a couple times fast but in the author comments he warns you of this.

Though you didn't personally experience the problems, it seems the majority have experienced them. So they're obviously there. Rather than test it elsewhere and then update the file that's currently in place, he deleted the file and resubmitted, and then when the same problem was (presumably) found to exist, he deleted it again. All this while the correct move would have been to get people to test it and hammer out the control bugs before putting it anywhere. The more things he does instead of that, the less I think of him.

This is a principle argument entirely, incidentally; I haven't played the game myself, I'm judging the actions and reactions.

Honestly, you're a pretty bad programmer if you're just depending on the users to not do something like the above situation. You're a fair programmer if you can protect your stuff code-wise against the stupidity of the mainstream masses. You're a good programmer if you can protect against everything (stable version), given the limitations of whatever base you're using. In the case of the majority of the newgrounds stuff, you can't really overcome the shortfalls of Flash. I suppose you could make workarounds if you're really zealous.

You do have a point and you know your right. Clicking the mouse and getting bugged is really bad each time I die its b/c of that. Having tamed my fingers to click the mouse button to shot or do most things so I tend to click it every now and then. I don't know it may just be the fact that I enjoy the game regardless of the mouse bug

What is everyone's favorite grinder medal? And by "favorite", I mean least worthwhile and most boring.

And has anyone else survived 355 seconds in Spaceland Adventure 2's Lunatic Mode? I can't seriously be the only one, right? I don't even have the Simple Shapes Collab 100 pointer.

Ultimate warlord medal is my fav grinder medal. It is the one that took me the longest to get. Working on maxing all spells on dragon boy at the moment

Hm I'm sure I did it a bit faster than 3.5-4 hours, more like 2.5-3 hours. But I did just restart everytime the boss showed up. Not worth it obviously, but I spend like 5% focus on that game, and 95% on a comedy podcast I was listening. That's what usually ends up happening when I play brainless grinding games.

As for the 355 sec medal in Spaceland Adventure 2, I think it's really damn hard. My record so far is 349 sec, so I'm sure I'll get that medal too.

The least worthwhile medal I earned this year was definitely '500 challenges won' in Ever Rising Water. The objective is VERY easy, but it takes a really long time to get it...for 10 points.

Eh, the max I can do so far is 280 secs. It gets pretty crazy past the 200 sec mark or so. Did you use spread shot or single shot?

Simple Shapes Collab 100 pointer is way easier. Just memorize the attack patterns. Compared to spaceland adventure 2 you can't really call it a bullet hell game...
