Yea the new medals have gone haywire. I think part of the problem is that halloween mode is 'on' by default and its causing the medal to either give itself up or not give it up at all. In the future halloween mode is unlockable and you start at the default skin. But yea itll be fixed shortly. Its kind of a unique scenario right now.
well thats my best guess... i didnt program em i just draw pretty picturez

When I started it just gave me Halloween mode, and the medal for beating the game, not sure why, but I played through it anyway.

They are, indeed, pretty. You have to love looking at the achievements (in-game) to notice their changes. Thanks for the heads up, sir. That's all we really needed.
Doubt it. I'd have to say a solid "no" on that one. :)

pretty much, as it doesn't interfere with the game difficulty, it just adds some costumes.
anyway, i've caught something: when playing on normal mode, when you eat the "spoils" with Dan or Tom, their costumes show up while they're munching on the juicy food. and when you juggle the zombies, their pumpkin heads show up too.
Well, I would say that some enemies difficulty settings have changed. When fighting PG on normal mode, he take so long to start throwing his fish, but on Halloween mode he starts with the fish almost as soon as he gets out of the door on my game.
Something must also be easier on Halloween made also, because I could never beat the game on normal mode, but the second time playing on Halloween mode, I beat it (along with 2 others characters right after that). :)
(Its about time I beat the game *sigh*)

the attacks are random. that was just luck.

there's nothing easier on halloween mode, you just probably got good at the game. try to beat it on normal mode, you'll see.
Read the author comments, they did change the difficulty. I'm surprised no one posted about it in here... xD

Exactly. Well the way it was envisioned anyway, was for the halloween skin to autoenable anytime its oct 31. so in theory, you can get that 5pt medal without doing anything but playing it on that day (today). This obviously turned out to be really problematic though because now those two medals are uber messed up. So we may have to change that and just give those 5 pts when the code is executed and maybe manually turn it to halloween mode.

For those who are not getting the Konami Medal, this is the easiest way to get the konami medal, for right now as it is auto activated. Make sure you have hallow wiener first.
Step1) Back up your save game file
Step2) Delete the original Portal defenders save game file.
Step 3) Load the game.
As soon as you click play this game, and it starts to load, it will give you the medal.
another way you can use, is play Portal defenders on a computer that it has never been played on before.

I also caught a glitch but I didn't make the best note of it. I believe it was after the first wave of the second round (so PG's turn). I paused the game right after I killed the last person in the first wave and when I unpaused it the doors were all opened and the 3 next enemies and PG were already out and a few steps down from each door. Thought that was weird and notable because it actually did effect game play cause I got hit as soon as I unpaused and when I was paused there wasn't even a single enemy on the field. So ya just thought I'd throw that out there.

Is this how you can also get Hollow Wiener as well? I'm one of the few who can't get the other medal, and I have, indeed, beaten the game with the two designated people. I really don't want to try and beat it with everyone though, because I've already done the minimum requirement, and I'm a lazy person like that.

All I did to get the medal was play it in Halloween mode

That's nice . . . if you read all of what I wrote, then you'd know that I have as well, and I actually beat the game. Twice. As the medals says. Dependent clauses to emphasize. Not even just play the game. As others have. Oh so many of you. Because most of you. Are complaining. About not getting Konami. I'm on the other spectrum where I'm not getting Hollow Wiener. ^-^ Sorry if I'm sounding rude, but this happened to be a very specific problem that needs a more refined answer than previously stated. Because I am slowly turning into a wh0r3. Instead of a gamer. Which is bad. Drugs are bad, m'kay? Don't do drugs, because they're bad.

Oh...Guess I'm just as lazy as you...
I'm so glad I'm avoiding double posts, haha. Sorry to mention this, but since it was mentioned in previous posts, I had to replay it. I finally received the "YLF SGIP NEHW" medal from When Pigs Fly. I sadly got it in 12.19 seconds. To me, getting that one medal of playing without crashing will just be an impossibility for me, and I'll ignore it. That second-to-last actual obstacle (going forwards), the hardest one in my opinion, is just too much trouble to even attempt beating it. Right now, I'm currently trying to do the lame glitch (it's a glitch, it's not hacking) of playing more than an hour to get the time-based medals, which will show me if the glitch actually exists or not. On my last note on When Pigs Fly, didn't the game have medals for playing throughout the game and reaching certain rooms without touching the walls? Was that too hardcore for everyone in general, or will those be one of those hidden medals, like on the two games with medals that don't actually show up on the game's page thing?

Ugh...l didn't know there were any problems with the game at all until l read the posts here...damn.
I am lucky l got it as soon as l hit "play"..
I just found an interesting bug in Portal Defenders: Psycho Goldfish started throwing fish at me from off-screen, and the first one hit me, but (I assume) because he was off-screen he didn't move up the screen at all, and just kept throwing them where I already was. So I got hit by about 6 fish in a row and died. The untimely death aside, shouldn't he move up the screen regardless of whether he's on it?
Deploy the... it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... whoosh!
Hmm I just got pretty much all the medals in Hanzel and Grettel. I still need that "use the slingshot 200 times" medal, but come on... how is that even an achievement? That's just a pain in the ass =/ Medals like Baby Steps are also pretty lame.

Yeah he should go from top to bottom or vice versa when throwing fish at you.
Goldie moves correctly for me. Top-down, and even from bottom to top.
I still am not getting the Hollow Weiner medal, though.
Woah I didn't even play the game I was just gonna get the Konami medal and it gave me the Hollow Weiner medal instead o.O.

That's happened to me a bunch both before and after the Halloween medals were added.
And still no Hallow Wiener for me either.

After the game is opened and loaded, before pressing PLAY try pressing Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right to toggle Halloween mode off.

I don't mean to be rude, sir ma'am krev, but . . . that's kind of old news . . . I'm starting to wonder if you're paying attention to previous posts. I mean, I can understand the whole glass fish post I made being missed, but this one? I'll just give you the benefit of doubt and say you're just messing with us. ^-^ Easy game though, nonetheless.
Oooops, sorry guys. I thought I had fixed everything for the Portal Defenders Halloween Edition and went off merrily to celebrate Halloween away from the Internetz...only to return today to enough complaining and PMs to realize I had definitely missed something.
So I went back through my code and tracked down the error...at least I hope i finally squashed it. We're running an old version of the medal API since we were the 1st medal game on newgrounds and the way I set up the medals left a lot of places that needed to be changed to add in new ones. I missed one of those and now it's hopefully fixed.
**Site admins still need to approve the upload before it goes live, but rest assured it will be working soon.**
Bad news is that it was the kind of mistake that crossed a lot of wires so you might need to re-play certain scenarios to get the missing medals and/or clear your saved game data to fix it.
It's totally my bad for rushing through the release of this halloween treat and then disappearing before making sure it was 100% right. Forgive please and keep on earning my medals!
