Someone mentioned it would be a good game for medals. I have some ideas for them:
Reach 100,000 ft in free play mode
Reach 500,000 ft in free play mode
Survive 1hr in free play mode without affecting anything in the game
Collect $10,000 during gameplay
Reach Mars in 10 days or less
Reach Mars in 5 days or less
Reach the Moon in 5 days or less
Reach the Moon in 3 days or less
Purchase all the upgrades that make you look very stylish
Anyway, it ended up taking longer to get back to the ground than it took to get up to 500k ft, and I collected money faster on the way down than on the way up. Score for the round was $6,095,441,833.30. I'm happy with that. I can post a screenshot for any non-believers if one is requested of me.
Deploy the... it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... whoosh!

Hey Duffle, did the rockets go through your blocks too?

No, but a glitch like that might be useful on the boss, considering the amount of rockets on his screen.
Also, that glitch you mentioned about not warping from the top to the bottom happened to me. It really did make the whole warp area a lot easier, but I died on the part with the invisible blocks.

It's not really hard, just time-consuming. It is definitely easier than Sonny 2, even if you're not using a walkthrough.
You might want to wait until the broken medal is fixed, though.

Very very easy game, except for the caves of trial, but incredibly time consuming.
Took me a whole day, from morning to late night to complete it (l only took one 90 minute break).
I haven't posted here in a while, I'm usually discouraged by the sheer amount of pages this thread gets now everyday...
I've been slowly getting all the medals for epic war 3... Almost done... It's just so freaking time consuming...
Anybody have tips on how to get the stupid 208 medal for OCD ? I know about the whole forward backward thing, but that doesn't seem to accelerate it that much and I would still have to spend about 13 hours straight on it which just seems like too much.

Cave of trials is easy after you get phoenix.
My strategy was VERY time consuming, but worked well!
1) Before you do any of the Cave of trials, beat the game with at least 4 heroes.
2) Make sure your using the Orc/Ogre looking hero at lvl 30!
3) For sure cards - Black Knights/Centaurs/Taurus and Little Meteor/rain of arrows/phoenix/invincible/heal
4) Titan: Stay at your castle until your units are fully spawned. Use meteor and rain of arrows to keep down the numbers coming across the field. Hold onto phoenix as long as possible for Trial 1. Once the titan starts coming accross the screen throw everyone at him. Once they get to him use invincibility. When invincibility wears off the weaker units will probably die on the first hit, but you can use heal to keep the strong ones alive longer. Keep a close eye on your hero if he gets low, pull him back. Use the phoenix if there is a lot of units coming at you behind the titan. also make sure to use any other attack spells on the titan. Once he goes down, regroup at your castle.
5) Once Phoienix is recharged shoot it across the screen and send all you units behind it to hit the castle as fast as possible, using invincibility and heal seperatly as neccessary. When the enemy numbers skyrockets again, retreat and regroup using meteor/arrows/phoenix to thin the oncoming crowd. Repeat step 5 as neccessary.
After you beat trial 1, you get fire titan, and that makes trials 2,3 and 4 much easier with these steps.
it normally takes about 4 times charging the enemy castle to get it all the way down.
Trial 4 sends multiple titans but it can still work if your decently skilled. this was the toughest trial for me.
For trial 5
dont use phoenix, make sure you don't hit the great imp. Once all your units are spawned, move fire titan about 2/3 of the way accross the map. Shoot phoenix then click "forward". Keep an eye on phoenix, once he hit the great imp, cast invincibility.
Maybe this was just luck for me, but the fire titan threw the imp into the air, and all my other units charged the castle while the imp and my titan duked it out. Invincibility is key because the great imp kills EVERYTHING(castles included) in one hit

Sorry for double post
Ghost mouse - Freeware...AWESOMENESS! use it to repeat the forward - back process. Let it run for about an hour and a half. Which should speed you up to about a 6 hour run! I just havent got it yet because i have the attention span of a 2 month old golden retreiver in a tennis ball factory and I keep missing the password input!

But at least you don't really need to actively play the game, except for the last couple battles and the cave of trials, at least not after your first time through. You just keep it open in a pop-up window, do something else until all your units are spawned and send them towards the castle; and you beat the level.
The only other recommendation I have is to do the 5th cave of trial first, since you get an awesome card from it. I think the secret is to not have any units that cause explosions, because they often send the great imp over to your castle, and make sure you have invincibility fully upgraded. Combine the beserk card with the hercules card and even titans go down in about 3 seconds. Plus then you can stay extra long at enemy castles for the harder levels, since you can alternate invincibility and beserk, both of which are strong enough to keep your units from dying against the onslaught.

Hmm thanks, I'll give that a shot!
Watch as I finally dominate that stupid thing.
Bah, need to respond to a couple Hedgehog related comments.
At 7/7/09 08:49 AM, HeavyTank wrote: Also, l agree, Hedgehog Launch 2 should have medals...but how can you beat the game in just 3 days?
Epic luck?
Sorta, I manages to make $2000 on the first day with what was pretty much epic luck, and proceeded to but the radar and a slightly larger fuel upgrade. By the end of day 2, I had $5000, which I spent on the fuel sucker and another fuel-pack upgrade. Then from there it was an incredibly long bouncing on blocks due to the fact I had level 1 rockets and level 1 height upgrades. I supposed I might be able to do it in one day, but that would take an incredibly long time to set up.

It is the same game. I just went for a speed run to Mars because any idiot with a lot of time can bounce around in free play mode once upgrading everything, it doesn't take any real skill at all.
So has anyone LEGIT beat Lastman yet? and if so is there a vid walkthrough coming soon. Im afraid that I'm going to have an incredible run and get to the part where PiGPEN's vid died and then I will lose it all. I make it to the part with like 50 crabs and two armidillos like once every three or four runs now, and have only made it past there twice, getting better tho.
I think I ran into a problem, regarding the one-time medal achievement status of Seed of Destruction.
Last night, I spent an amount of time getting the Looking for a Challenge medal (survive 10 minutes, custom game, all units, maximum difficulty,) but the power had flickered an hour before that off and on and my DSL modem kept resetting.
I only started playing again about 2 hours later, when I was sure the modem was connected back to the net and stable... but apparently it had flickered again while I was playing.. I did my 10 minutes in LFaC, the medal get popped up, but didn't go to my profile. I gave up for the night.
I did it again twice today, no medal popup to be seen. So I take it I'm screwed, right?
This is where I start to disagree with the literate/illiterate one-time-only thing when it bleeds over into the other medals. And yes, I cleared cache, cookies, temp files, SOL files, etc etc.
Has anyone else run into this type of problem with SoD and successfully gotten the medal you had achieved previous? (Not lit/illit.)

wasn't it said that the only way to get the "go home" medal before the "beetle battle" medal is by cheating?

medal chronology in profiles sometimes bugs up, it's happened to quite a few people.

Hmm, actually I didn't get the Secret Medal. What happened was that yesterday I died and then the ngad appeared, after it went off there was a glitch that kept showing me the house and the medal achievement, on what I would say 1/4 of the screen, on the upper right corner of the screen. I've sent PiGPEN a pm telling him about it, haven't received any reply yet.
Still haven't got the Secret Medal if it wasn't for the glitch, I do have an idea where it is though.
i demand a wakthrough!!!... i keep getting further and further and then trip up on the next bit... >.<... also does anyone know of a program that records you playing so i can upload me doing it?... im badass in the first 3 mins now :3

The problem with that is that the recording program makes the gameplay choppy. Ever since I've been recording, I haven't been able to get as far.

Camtasia. Download the 30 day trial and you'll be able to record and save videos of your gameplay without having to pay for the program.

Uh could you write a walkthrough, at least of the first bit?

I could make a walkthrough for the first part if there's a need for it.

already did :P... have a look a few pages back.. it will get you up to the long jump spring bit... anway... i got further then that now... and using a different style as well... il record myself and get some vids going on :3
Does anybody know a failproof method to pass this part?
I can get near to the end,but i mostly die here.

Or Hypercam because it hasn't got a 30 day trial but is free forever.

You mean the lower part with the snail and the rockets? Make your way to the porcupines and walk all the way to the left so that you can see the snail. Now, when the snail left the screen towards the right side, prepare to jump through the slimy "vent". You should arrive on the other side when the snake is back into your direction and is about in the middle. Now you can simply jump over it, wait for the first rocket to bump of the corner and then run and jump. Pretty easy when you know how to time it.
Also: Woohoo, I've got pretty far this time :D

That should be "all the way to the right", not left... Also I meant snail when I wrote snake. I need some coffee -_-

Also, if you move up to the red teleporter block in the vent, the porcupines will disappear as they walk left. If you go further, the rockets will start to bounce back.

it depends on your settings. Ive been usin Hypercam to record walkthroughs on games for ages on youtube. It's pretty good with recording once you configure your settings.
Only problem is you have that watermark symbol in your upper left if you dont buy the full vers of it.
