Another decidedly un-epic event in my life that I thought I would post about for no real reason, other than because I can. This may be long, so here is a brief summary for the lazy ones out there...
In brief:
I just passed out in my bathroom and woke up on the floor. True story (and I do have pics to prove it- see bottom of post).
Ok, longer version:
I've been feeling pretty lousy today- stomach ache, tiredness etc, which I had put down to lack of sleep and a dodgy mexican meal I had last night. That may well be the case. Anyway, I got up from my couch at about 1AM Denver time to go to bed, and walked into my bathroom.
As I was relieving myself, I began to feel extremely light headed, I remember a brief moment where my breathing felt restricted (like an asthma attack for anyone that has experienced that, as I did throughout my childhood), and the next thing I know I woke up on my bathroom floor about 5 minutes later, my pants around my ankles still...
I did say this wasn't very epic...
Anyway, my head must have hit the door as proven by the picture- I do have one of the other side of the door, where a good part of the lining has been pushed out and thrown over the floor, but it was dark and the pic hasn't come out too well, so I can't be bothered to post it. The picture I have posted clearly shows the damage my head did, and my head sure does feel it now.
Other than that my backside hurts a lot from hitting the tiled floor, and my neck is stiff from what I can only assume is mild whiplash from the impact.
So this is where you guys come in:
1) My head doesn't hurt too much now, and I don't feel like I'm about to pass out again. Should I contact a doctor (it is 2 AM here now, and I really don't want to unless I have to)? First aid training (I used to work as a pool lifeguard) tells me that I should as I was knocked out for a couple of minutes, but that may have been the passing out rather than the impact itself. I didn't bleed at all, it just feels sore, and I don't think I did any major damage.
2) Has anyone else randomly passed out before and woken up in a strange place? What was your first thought? Mine was that I thought I was back home in the UK, in bed- that is until I felt the cold floor underneath me and the pain in my head. While I was out I had a pretty weird dream that felt like it went on for hours, even though I was only there a couple of minutes. Anyone else experienced that before?
3) I'm going to try and stay awake for the next hour to be absolutely sure there is no damage- I don't feel concussed and my head doesn't hurt, but there is always a chance of internal damage etc, so I don't want to go to sleep just yet. As this is the case, anyone that has nothing sensible to contribute, please post something stupid that will keep me awake :D
I made it all the way through Friday the 13th as well (all be it with a badly busted foot from an incident with a fridge at work- that is another story).
