I'm starting to wonder if there is anything else to add, that's where you guys come in :D.

Static Data is a puzzle/strategy game in which you must drag the boxes on one side of the screen to the portal on the other side, easy enough? No, as your score and box count progress, things get faster, obstacles appear, get past 75 boxes and then tell me it's easy :P.

Long story short, I need people to play the game, comment, suggest and review it anyway possible (suggest as in ideas that you think'll be good).

Static Data

Feedback is most appreciated :).

If this where in the portal i would probably give it a 3.

Yeah, that's the problem atm, I need to make it better, but I can't think what else to add to it >_<.

Thanks for your opinion.

Pretty neat idea. I'd give it 5. But I can see why your worried.

Ok to give you some solid advice I'll mention a few markers:

1. Graphical adjustments
Graphically there just isn't much to the game, the menu is solid grey with a few squared boxes to represent the menu buttons, try and work on that first to give the game a feeling because currently it completely lacks that. You might want to consider working on a theme for your game. Furthermore the graphicals ingame could use a bit more fancy. Try and get inspired by looking at the work of fellow artists for that if you can't come up with anything yourself out of the blue. (Example idea: military, say you're moving a convoy trough enemy lines without getting spotted)

2. The cheat mentioned above
There's a solution to that cheat problem, wich is either to give the block a max movement speed. That would be something like letting it follow your cursors _x and _y, but with a distance/speed calculation such that if you move the mouse real quick the box will only follow it at a maxed speed thus being delayed.
The second solution is to make the block move with keyboard buttons instead of mouse dragging, that way you'd have complete control on the speed issue.

3. Work in multible levels
Instead of doing it the way you've currently done with one level that just gets harder everytime you score you could work with multiple levels that increase hardship the farther you get. Besides that, if you use my suggestion on the theme'd game, you could work on something like powerups or bonus elements that you can gather while traveling to the other side of the screen.

Orginal, hard and fun!
I realy liked it! why cant I send my score? (33075)
Nevermind... listen.. I advice you to make new backgrounds each 4 levels...
That can be very nice.

Thanks a tonne for the suggestions guys :).

Oh and if your score doesn't show up the first time, try refreshing the page.

The graphics is fine but you're right, it could still be alot better, so yeah I'll worl on that.

Also, I could just say if the box collides with the laser thing, the box goes back to one of the start points (the box is big and would be difficult to go really fast to avoid the lasers while dragging that).

I had a 'finisher' so that when you get 75 or more boxes, the level changes to something that supposedly changes level, but I prolly will get the game to change every 50 boxes or so :).

Again thanks for the advice guys (still open to more comments and feel free to use the score board).

A) Make the bags into drugs, and the obsticles and police officers.

B) Make the bags into children, and the obsticles into on coming traffic. :)

ook.. no offence, but there's a reason It's called 'Static Data', I'm working on the graphics but I'm not completely changing the game..

I'm working on lvl 2 and some of the graphics whilst I'm at it.

First thing that comes to mind, is make a better preloader... make it more interesting.

The game, well it's a good idea, but graphics could be improved upon. Also i dont see the point in that red ball and that other thing, they dont seem to do anything, i put my box on top of them and nothing happened.

The shape tween when a new box is made is pretty nooby also.

It would probally get though but with a low score...

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-01 08:28:09

tiss broken to me. I touched alot of stuff but never lost a life nor died. And what does the big thing in the middle do XD THe green thing followed me and alll that ahppened was my score went down. Maybe the boxes should break or something? and the boxes don't evenlook like boxes. It needs a bit of graphical improvement.

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-01 08:29:47

Haha.

Well, didn't think about that. But I like the game! It has good potential on the portal. :)

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-01 08:39:15

@reelbigcheese: I think it'd do ok on the portal, but atm, it's not as good as my other games.

And I know it all needs graphical improvement (e.g: this preloader is temporary, and I'm working on a decent menu other than a fade-in).

---

The balls bring your score down, I should put some kind of effect to make that obvious, you lose a life if you collide with the rotating thing, but you can go through it quickly atm.

It's all still work in progress as I said, but thanks for your ideas :).

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-03 14:49:26

Bump.

I've updated it considerably, I've done the backgrounds in fireworks and fixed the box (which is now a bag).

I've also made use of the new style sheet function on Armor Bot leaderboards ;).

Here's it so far

I must work on a decent transition for it now :P.

Very nice ^^ Played it for like 10 mins, and the music kinda got on my nerves..i had to turn it off
Plus sometimes the bag starts off in the light or right under a ball so i lose a life before i can move it.. Am i the only one who has this happening?

Great game though, looking forward to seeing it finished :)

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-03 15:28:41

Ah, Jindo. Well of course it is an amazing game, but my bag was often mutilated before I had a chance to drag it from the lazer.

Oh okay, so its not only me....that's cool.

Yeah so i only can think of adding a music off type thing, and a more spunky menu =]

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-03 15:48:58

Thanks for the support :).

the menu and stuff is being worked on, meanwhile I'm focusing on gameplay and bugs ;).

So yeah I'll check this out, sounds kinda annoying :P, and I'll add a volume slider, if not, and on-off button.

Thanks for testing ;).

Response to Almost finished - Static Data 2006-10-03 18:21:16

Cool, and anytime Jindo.
I looked at your other work, great games. Especially Bob's Escape
