Interms of my interest of anime I feel isolated and out of sorts; it appears as though many fans
seem to enjoy in a rather annoying manor. All of the anime fans that I've met are lazy, annoying or just down right exasperating; just the other day some jerk in my class kept saying he was a ninja. It appears as though many people just enjoy anime just because they want to be popular among others or actually want to be the characters; and it bothers me to no end that these people are the majority of the fanbase. They don't work on our artistic projects, they chicken of anything that sounds challenging and they have no work ethic. Why oh why is that the only hard working admirable artist that I've met at my college are those opposed to anime because they've only experienced a couple of crappy kodomo series? Why? Doesn't anyone appriciate anime and manga for the hard work and effort of the artists, the ancient and divine choju Jinbutsu scrolls or the warm feeling one gains from viewing a series with warm characters and a cheerful demor? Why is it that all of this is so?

I agree thoroughly, I'm getting very tired of these little twerps who immitate anime to an extrama. Doing the peace sign every 5 minutes, attemping to imitate the ^^ thing, and using random japanese terms they learned from reading 5 pages of 'japanese for dummies'. I also hate how they use them wrongly... I watch my anime, enjoy it, and move on, I don't immitate characters or anything, I just watch and enjoy it and do my own thing.

I'm an anime freak, but I NEVER have done the whole eccentric behaviour schtick.
Fanfics on rare occassiosn(Normally while drunk) Cosplay on special occassions only(Oftem while stoned) and re-written English translations of anime(for thr sole purpose of taking the piss out of uber-serious shows)......ALL THE DAMN TIME!!!!(Usually while wasted, or late at night)
I refuse to do the "speaking Japanese for no reason" thing, it;s fucking stupid.
And the whole character imitation thing is sad to watch, one time a fat friend of mine was soooo high he went around screaming "LOOK AT ME , I'M SESSHOMARU!!!" in a crowded neighbourhood.

Friends don't let friends smoke weed and fantasize about being anime characters.

Yes agree; I myself actually want to enter the industry, I've studied Japanese rigorously for the last three years and also have been acquiring new techniques in terms of artwork.

Nice one, but you must be more original perhaps you should try experimenting and create your own style from scrolls.

because most of the people who watch anime sit in their parents basment till 4 am every night trying to write their own subtitles to some pirated hentai they found on limewire. for some reason thats beyond me its cool to be a pasty white weirdo, quoteing obscure anime that nobody else has ever seen. so in short. i have no idea, get away from them find some people outside and you'll be fine.

i just drew it to emphasize your point. if you look i didnt finish it becuase i got bored of the cheesy generic character.

as for makeing my anime\manga better.nah, iam not really an anime person. i make a story first create characters around it. the pieces of the character fall into place by the story itself not becuase i want them to look cool.

I see, I myself am more of a monster artist than a anime artist. Most of characters are obscure creatures with an anime influence; I tend not create humans at all. If I do create something in human shape it's mostly likely an evolved monster.

Hm...well I don't act crazy about the anime I watch.

Although everyone secretly wants to be Happosai right?

Or is it just me...

Note to idiots: I am joking here. Happosai is my favorite anime character though.

I enjoy all cultures of art especially Japanese art. I mean it's so detailed and stuff. oh and check out my drawing Haruko and Naota. I have others but I post them on the CAC board.
