KB doesn't help with audio newbies, but he does participate in activities outside of the AF, which then derives the respect within it.
Ay. :)
Most important, He´s a very important source of inspiration by just BEING here, many ppl have been inspired by his (kickass) work, and thats probably the most important part.
This will however raise the question "who can adv. outside the adv. thread", but seeing this is no self adv. it makes it slightly more legit.
The only answer is: No one. If we begin to make specific exceptions, IE, links to other sites, it'd only be a matter of time until the system collapses. In this case, the equivalent is you starting MAC6 outside of the AP, then time after time advertising it and it's songs, some of which have never even set foot in the AP.
Yop, true indeed. For the record and for the massess, that should definitley be what to strive for. However, most systems are corrupt, one way or another, unfortunatley.
KB is simply trying to attain and sustain his fanbase. A true fanbase developes with genuine music; the fans go to the artist, not, the artist parasitically advertises everywhere to get fans in the first place.
Asking KB, and having spoken to him also knowing him quite well as an e-friend, i´d disagree. He´s a bastard who loves to spread music, be it his music or other stuff. I would more assume this is a reason to spread awsome music, even though he happen to be involved in the mix. However, if anything i´d guess he´s promoting his friend.
Making exceptions from respect are fine, but when those exceptions are taken advantage of, in any instance, that shouldn't be a privilege in the first place. Especially when they ignore the needs of the AF they're taking advantage of.
This is a place to discuss techniques and other things that are audio related, and it is preffered to be AP audio related. However, we´re just humans, and not robots. Many of us dont hang out in that many other forums, so of course we would want to spread the word to our e-friends. There is general fear and respect for advertising outside the adv.thread, and that´s a good thing in most cases. However, you really dont get htat much attention in that thread, that´s just how it is. But its a good way to clean up the forum indeed.
To get attention u´ll have to be more creative, aget friends and hang out. Or just make kickass music :)
The absolutley best thing would be if it wasn´t that strikt making adv. threads outside the adv. thread, BUT, that would require moderation of an existing level, not the once in a while modding we now get. In that case, none deserving threads, and the "lol cehck my muzzakk" threads could be locked/deleted on an instant, letting the bad threads slide rightfully down to the abyss. I know there have been requests for more moderators in this forum a long time ago, but there´s no really dedicated AF mod.. Denvish haven´t been around for a while eithe, and seldom is nowadays. Of course, the man´s got a life, no blame there.
It´s great when moderators comes in and clear things up ones in a while, but noone really know what´s going on here, since noone is here enough to be looked at asa "regular" even.
And to be honest, that´s why the rules should try to be followed to 100% at this moment, until we get priviledged to have our own daddy in here that can take care of things.
Personally, I never saw the thread KB made. But i did download what was advertised for in there ;)
