I care. Hit me up with an e-mail, Andy. Lemme know what's on your mind. I'm sure you and I are on the same wavelength. We have been for quite some time.

I stopped in #NGdrunks tonight, but, altr was spamming up the place with pics and nothing was really going on. Heh, I even said hi to him, but that got lost in the picture floods.

I swear, _altr_ is one Severely_Crazy_Dude.

Myabe i will, but you knowing what i think about certain peope will severely limit what i can say to you in the future, so let me think about it.

Yup, once that guys drunk he rampages, which results in many iirc drawings he's made and "altrd", which are classy, sometimes. I remember him mentioning he had 30 odd beers to drink last night, so he probably did get a bit wrecked. If your not busy with your band shit, pop in now and chat, or even NGchat, its kinda dead as fuck just now, so you could possibly liven it up.

You are partly wrong. Proving yourself as a helpful regular isn't only for a month. The voters should consider a longer period of time (even though some of them have a short memory) and you must continue to justify their votes after being voted in unless you want to join the retired regulars' list :P.

I hate this when someone types: "I'm going to try this month".. that's not the freakin purpose of this list. It's not the best wi/ht? regular of the month award...

Congratulations to EKRegulus for becoming a regular. You're the first in always coming second. ;)

Thanks man.

At 3/4/05 07:31 AM, Slightly_Crazy_Dude wrote: The thing that irks me is that everyone seems to have a favourite user on the list, and voting for them IS NOT THE FUCKING POINT of the list. Its supposed to be helpful people who get on here, not people you like. Man im so sick of saying that. If i wasnt going to work soon, i would go into a larger rant, but this should do for now, expect a big one tommorow, and NOONE shall be spared.

Oh man, it reminds of some of my previous complaints, especially the one about the voters that didn't want to vote out their friends... and it did change the way that the voters used their out vote. I honestly thought that some people that received a high amount of votes deserved it. It proves that some of the voters do vote fairly but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not the case for every voter. You can only make some suggestions to the voters about how to vote and what to look for but you can't oblige them to vote some specific people. It's their choice and you need to live with it.

At 3/5/05 05:26 AM, RedCircle wrote: Now you all know why I ask you to EXPLAIN your votes when you send them to me. I like to hear your reasoning. It helps me determine if you indeed took a little time to check out people's regularity and helpfulness.

Oh yeah, that's a good way to reduce unfair or unjustified voting. :) What's even greater is that the voting process and the list itself keep contantly improving. :P

I agree with you here Regulus, a user shouldn't souly post in the wi/ht forum to try and make their way onto a list or get into a club, i post here because i like to help people the best i can also i like the users here more than any of the other forums on NG. I never said YOU specifically did i? You really really need to stop being so fucking insecure and get a grip. You know what, here's my evaluation of you'

EKRegulus. This dude is a regular poster in Wi/Ht? mainly in the stat topics which he is well established in (props to him) BUT "I" never see him help out in a new thread, if someone needs help, i dont see him post, this could be down to two things. One, im never online when he is online, so i dont see him help out at all. This is strange though, because i see him online most days. Two, he doesnt bother to help out at all, he's a stat whore, like the best of him (props again, to him, he's doing well), but doesnt share his knowledge of the Wi/Ht? forum with the people who need it most. Well, i thought id get that out there. Thanks for making me do it.

lolz, I knew that it was a bad idea to type that sentence. WHy didn't I hold myself and delete it? I dunno :O Wow, I even get a special evaluation. O_o

OK, let's clear this up:
1-Check the previous posts, I did respond on shorter topics many times. Maybe not as much as some other regulars but I don't ignore the NEW topics.
2-I won't reply to a topic if I don't know the answer or if the questions are already answered.
Why?
-because it's unecessary to respond the same answers many times to the same questions on the same topic. Right?
-replying with an inaccurate answer isn't a good idea and it's NOT helpful. It's mostly the opposite. If I have an answer but it's not the exact one then I might reply or I might hold myself. It depends on how helpful it might seems. I will usually hold myself if posting the answer/explanation/clarification/whatever isn't worth it.
3-I used to type a lot of trash into the general forum but now, I'm mostly replying to confused users that need help. I don't want to participate to the usual crap happening there. Of course, I still have some posts like "can you please update my sig with the rank icon?" but what's wrong with that?
4-Posting on huge threads doesn't automatically mean that I'm not helpful or not typing some information. I think that I did more help in these threads anyway.
5-Yes, I'm a statswhore and typing about stats is amusing.

but doesnt share his knowledge of the Wi/Ht? forum with the people who need it most.

I was expecting a few users to consider me like a simple statswhore that doesn't help. I might not be the most helpful user here but you are partly wrong if you think that I NEVER share my knowledge. Anyway, it's good to know what the others think about me.

Well, i thought id get that out there. Thanks for making me do it.

No problem.

That's great. Don't forget that some users in general also need help (how to deposit?, how to blam/save?, etc.). Too bad that most of the question threads (the ones that deserve an answer) on the general section get locked by a mod (I will keep the names into my head) before anyone gives a good answer to the confused user. Even worse, the mod doesn't answer to the question or gives a link to the FAQ and we all know that the FAQ isn't enough for many cases. The FAQ isn't complete (and never will be) and it's not always clear enough for a confused user.

If i were to make a list one day it would be a bonus or reward, but not a goal.

A list? Any list? Then you should thank shittykitty and his several lists which already include you. That's a lot of bonuses :P If you mean member/regular/mod lists then you are right. As for the other lists (vp list, b/p list, etc.), they are rewards for your voting/reviewing/depositing dedication.

Bah. I prefer to consider it as a bonus and as another interesting thread on this BBS' section.

Fair enough.

Wow, I usually read the opposite O_o. Thanks... I guess :)

Well, not from me. Some people take things too seriously i think. I find it mostly funny, sometimes insluting, but yet towards me, so i entertaining none the less. ^_^

************************************************

I liked the weighted vote idea, i think it is fairer that way honestly. People will think about who they truely want in and not just who the three they kinda feel should be in. It will make it more interesting and more serious in a way too. Plus, more challenging to get in. Sounds like it worth a try anyway, i think it should fly fine.

Actually i help out quite alot in the General forum, answering questions that probably should have been posted here in the wi/ht section. But i know what you mean often a link tho the faq just isn't enough, and you cannot trust that the users with the questions will go there and read up, and your point about the mods is also valid, its true alot of the time threads do get locked before a surficient answere can be given. I think this is probably because they have seen it too many times to care.

I'm sorry if I made it sound like "I want to be a regular, so I'll try to get it" kind of thing. I didn't really mean it that way. I suppose I did as well in way, but what I meant is that I want to be a person who has the capabilities of a regular who can help people and show respect to others. I have found helping others to be fun and saying that has made me push myself a little higher. To me, that's a positive thing as I am helping others but it can also be negative.

Anyway, just wanted to clear that up. Hopefully I haven't said something I wasn't supposed to, as I usually do.

I'm sorry, but I see the talk of weighed voting in here. What does that mean? Am I completely dumb or is it several users placing one vote on a particular person to give them more of chance than another who might receive less votes?

You have in no way said anything wrong Alkador : ) there is nothing wrong with wanting to become a regular, im sure most peopple who post here and arn't yet on the list would love to be included on it. Thats not what i was arguing against. I was meerly saying that helping people just to make youself seem like a more realistic candidate for the regulars list is wrong.
