The fact that passwords can support emojis at all is the most shocking part of this IMO.

512 characters for a password?!?!? i never read and see a high number
hmmmm, password length limit not long enough, needs to be longer ngl
Big respect to whoever has a 512 character long password, but out of fear.
+1 For the Bitwarden suggestion as a password manager. It also comes with a great password/phrase generator that you can use to generate very strong, different passwords for all the sites you use.

Also first post. owo
I just had to log in for the 1st time in literally decades. How I remembered my password was unhuman.
Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

Wonder if anyone will actually max out the new character limit hmm... and emojis, wonder if most other sites allow for their use too, sounds like NG may be leading the way again with this...
Account security really is a big thing, appreciate these improvements.

My password manager I tend to use is KeepassXC since i mainly keep my passwords locally as I don't trust online password managers.
I will also say that I stray away from 2FA applications, I have lost my Nintendo account because of it before and I can't login to any of my services because of it.
Dude, but 2fa is quite important nowadays. You just gotta remember about having it. Just one leak or a trojan to scrub your login/last session cookies and your account is done for without that extra layer of protection.

yeah, it is too short and has low entropy due to repeated characters

Consider that I use an email service that isn't Gmail and that I use an alternate desktop client to access my email, I'm not even worried about it at all. I also use Linux as well so things like downloading bad programs will be a much tinier chance of me getting it. All of my passwords use whatever mix of characters allowed even to an ascii tier and that I use an offline password manager and store my password file on a USB, Not only that but I keep multiple backups on cds and other USB/SD card and even my own phone as my password file.
You see, Even if somehow Newgrounds had a database leak, they would need to figure out my Email, which is also secure by a very strong password.
How do you know if someone uses Linux? Don't worry, they'll tell you.
What will happen to those who have a password below 8 characters? Will they just be required to make a new password or does this only apply to new users?

This only applies to new users and people who are updating their passwords, existing short passwords will still work.

You should use 2fa keys instead. They're much simpler to use and it's more secure than authenticator apps.

We've extended the maximum password length to 512 characters and increased the minimum password length from 6 to 8 characters, although longer is better.
Our new system allows for the use of any characters in passwords, including emojis. We also recommend the use of a password manager, as it greatly enhances online security by generating and storing complex passwords. Bitwarden is an efficient and secure password manager, for example.
I joined the NG Floors last year. Am I good?
