Note Regarding the NG API for Medals and/or High Scores
Since the first Flash Forward, we updated the Project System to default to our HTML5 API (Newgrounds.io). If you go to the API page in your project, there's an "Advanced" link in the top right of the header bar. Click that and in the paragraph below there is text to "click here" to switch to the old Flash API. Do that and it should guide you through the rest. Flash API documentation is in the wiki.

How can I use music from Newgrounds musical artists? Do I have to pay, ask for permission, or do I have a time and use limit, or how?
edit: Also, I can't do normal animations, only the ones that have interactions? (I would like to know)

I can't tell anything about the animations... But speaking about the music - most of the Newgrounds artists would really love if someone would use their nusic on some project. So I don't think that this would cost you any money if you would ask kindly and explain what do you want to use it for. Just contact with the creator of the music ( basically, Musician) and Don't worry about it too much.
I don't really get the second part of you message but the condition that you must comply with is that the animation must be created with Adobe Animate or any of the Flash versions ( Flash created by Macromedia. After Adobe company buyer it, name changed to Adobe Animate)

Each song on NG has info under the credits, where it will show if it has a Creative Commons license, or allows use for web-based games and animation. It's never a bad idea to message the musician and ask, though. It's a nice way to meet people!

For the event we ask that the animations contain an interactive component, to make them unique from an animation that could just be uploaded as a video.

Sounds really great. Although, i doubt i'm gonna participate this year flash forward jam given that i was struggle to make a game last year. At this point i'm mostly focusing on practicing my own art skill.
I'm always very happy about seeing this jam! with Ruffle's AS3 getting much better, and people from previous years honing their AS2, I'm excited!

We're allowing non-Flash-IDE tools to be used, so everything is fair game if the end results is an SWF.

Why do they kill off Flash in 2020? Its not cool for flash animators and bronies g4 mlp was created by flash animation

Don't think I'll have the capacity to make a whole entry this year, but if anyone needs either a support artist (VFX, in betweens, BGs, UI, that sort of thing) or needs help with the NG API for AS2, let me know. I remember struggling a bit with the level sharing API for Tidying Up last year, so I'm happy to help anyone in the same boat this time around.
